TAG Heuer CAV511A.BA0902 wrist watches news:
Remember when we took you into the vault at Timex to show you their new Originals collection? Well at Basel, we got a sneak peek at the latest addition to the popular vintage-inspired collection - a dive watch. It looks every bit the part of a vintage diver, and is even sized appropriately for the time-period at 38mm.? It comes in a few different colors and on a few different straps, but the best part about this great looking new watch from Timex is the price - $85.You can't get much these days for $85, but you can get a nice looking knock-around watch that resembles some of the classics.? Judging from the huge response to J.Crew's Timex watch and then the other Originals pieces, this is going to be sure-fire winner.Look for these watches soon. My fathers friend was showing it off to me but something seemed odd, or is it just me...I told him I would post it on here to get some results. Please help, thank you
I've become interested in men's watches from the 30s. Some of the designs are so unique to the period, and unlike the gazillion watches that are called 'Art Deco' on Ebay, they really ARE Art Deco. One in particular caught my eye - the Bulova American Clipper. It was made, as far as I can tell, from 1936 to 1940. It came with white and black dials, and plain or engraved bezels.I nabbed one a month or so ago, nonrunner, which is now off at my Watch Guy's for a spa treatment...I thought, 'One's enough', but then I saw one with a period-correct bracelet, and somehow I found myself bidding on it, and won!The problem is, although I find the bracelet fascinating - it's got a really cool clasp, and it really fits with the watch - when I put it on, it's just SO SMALL!!! I mean, it's a good fit - it's obviously a MAN'S bracelet - but it is so far outside the current aesthetic for mens' watches!I put it on, and my wife said, "Too Girly!". One of my coworkers said, "Wow, that's too Femmy." B
I recently acquired a 5627A-001 and am interested in trying different straps with the watch. It comes with two strap and I am also interested in trying out one of the Rubber B straps for it. I read some postings about the difficulty in changing the straps because there is a screw that needs to be removed that retains the pin-bar at both both lugs and also one for the deployant clasp.Does anyone happen to know the correct size or flat head screw driver that fits these retaining screw heads?Would it be wiser to just take it to an AD and have them swap out the strap for me? It would seem that if I have the correct tool, it should be simple enough. Clearly, I would prefer to not mark up my watch trying out different straps, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi guys,It's been a long time since I've posted anything on here ever since I purchased my first rolex, sub-C 116610.I see that submariner prices have increased quite a bit on these forums.I remember when I bought my first rolex, you were able to find a decent, like new submariner for $7,000 -/+ last year. The last few weeks, I see that prices for a used sub-c has increased to mid to high $7K range, and I've seen new ones go for $9,000 -/+ lately. What's going on with the pricing on these forums? AD's still have them selling at $8600 (retail)Any idea on why forums prices have increased on these submariners?
