Omega 198.0005 wrist watches news:
European Union (EU) antitrust regulators have announced that they will investigate claims that luxury watch manufacturers are refusing to supply spare parts to independent watchmakers and repairers, a breach of EU competition rules. The European Commission did not identify the companies involved in the probe, however Swatch Group has confirmed that it is one of the targets. Reuters quotes Swatch Group spokesperson Beatrice Howald as stating that the investigation “concerns almost the entire watch industry” and that Swatch Group is “confident regarding the outcome of this investigation.” As this story goes to press, Richemont and LVMH have not issued statements. The regulators will investigate a complaint lodged in 2004 by the European Confederation of Watch & Clock Repairers¡¯ Associations, or CEAHR. That complaint claimed that the manufacturers’ parts policies threaten to drive independent watchmakers out of business, as there are no alternate sources f
Hello,I recently found a Hamilton at an estate sale. It was not marked 'Hamilton' on any exterior surface, but I took a chance and when I got it home and opened it, I found it is a Hamilton case and 987A movement. I suppose the face could have been refinished at some point to not have the Hamilton name, but I am not sure. Can anyone help with a model name and era, please? The movement has a serial number of 013758 and the case is marked " Hamilton Watch Co. 10K Gold Filled Lancaster PA with a serial number of 1108881.Thanks very much for any assistance!ps....I hope thes pics turn out ok!
I have seen pictures of ROOs with steel bracelets on models which were only available from (Authorised) dealers with a leather strap, and I have a few questions about possibly doing this to my watch...-I believe the ROO steel bracelets are larger and thicker than regular RO bracelets so a normal RO bracelet would not fit?-is it possible to buy a steel bracelet from an AD or does my watch need to be sent to AP? If the 2nd, do they keep the leather strap?-what is the approximate cost. Thanks in advance.
It all stared a couple of months ago when I sold my Omega America's Cup on TZ to Charlie Hustle (who is VERY happy with it!) I then purchased a beautiful Aqua Terra white face with rose gold markers on TZ and I really liked that beautiful co-axial movement I admired through the exhibition caseback but it just did not smile at me... sold it again on TZ and then it was time to buy the classic SMP Chrono which I got almost like new you guessed it... on TZ. I was looking for another classic to add to my humble collection when along came Dapper Dan with a GMT 50th Anniversary for sale on TZ... which I am now the proud owner of!Here are the pics guys hope you like them and more will follow once the watch is in my possession... Omega has definitely become my new obsession!
Hi does anyone know what year this translation booklet was published? Thanks
