Yesterday Sotheby's New York held its Important Watches and Clocks sale at their Upper East Side headquarters. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the record-setting sale of the Duc D'Orl¨¦ans Breguet Sympathique clock from 1835, a stunning clock with a docking pocket watch - yes, a docking pocket watch.Just looking at the Duc D'Orl¨¦ans, you can tell you're staring at something impressive. The case is decorated with beautiful ormolu-mounted red tortoise shell, it stands at nearly two feet tall, and the amount of gold sculpture is staggering. But it's the little repeating watch perched on top that really makes the Duc D'Orl¨¦ans special.?Abraham-Louis Breguet wanted to tackle the problem of watch winding, and this is one of his finest achievements in the arena. New Nighthawk
Just received a brown Nighthawk and noticed something unusual. As the second hand moves across the face, it hits the marks beginning from the 15 minute mark then begins to miss the marks at about the 43 minute mark. At the worst, which is about 57 minutes, it hits right between the marks. Then the hand begins to get closer to the marks and is right on again at 15.Is this as good as it gets with Citizen? Am I expecting to much?

Ok My Little Detectives...Gather Round .....an Interesting Waltham .....
Have been noodling around the swamp lately and this rather exciting watch popped up ...so I dragged it over to my watch section ( as in keeping an eye on) and here 'tis eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low pricesI thought is was a handsome and unusual watch .....then just now, I hit the "enlarge" button .....and oh my stars and whiskers......lookie at that dial !!!can you say ....bad re-dial....I thought that you could ......do you think this is the way it orginally looked, and someone just had a very unsteady hand when attempting to repaint the dial ? Or did someone come up with this design all by themselves and decided that it looked better .....and except for the uneven lines, I am intrieged by the arraingement of the elements I rather like it ....but it feels a little off ....whatchu guys think ????

My next watch purchase
