Vacheron Constantin 39202 wrist watches news:
The ability to time?events to hundredths of a?second?is quite a technological feat. Such recording requirements surpass the needs of the average chronograph-user (who is more likely to?use this complication in more modern ways (e.g. grilling time, decanting time, souffl¨¦-rising time. Heck, maybe even a light?jog if it's not raining). But for the adventurous watch-wearer, especially one who lives on the slopes, Longines is offering the Conquest 1/100th Alpine Skiing Chronograph.Longines has a long history of athletic timekeeping ¨C since 1878, to be exact ¨C and this new model continues that heritage.?The case measures in at 41 mm ¨C modern dimensions, but not egregious. The dial is black with a single applied Arabic numeral at 12 o'clock and eleven applied indexes?with Super-LumiNova coating. The?hands are rhodium?plated, with the red hand swiping at 1/100th of a second when engaged. So, the wife and I are shopping in Toronto on the weekend (actually looking for a new wallet for her - least I could do after getting a new watch and new strap for me....) and we come upon a large watch retailer (Royal de Versailles - HUGE selection of watches). I suggest we pop in for a few minutes to just have a look. I am actually looking for her, although she doesn't know it. She pretty much turns up her nose at all the ladies watches, so I give up and start looking for another for me...... I have expressed my dislike for the Royal Oak here before, but along with a bunch of those and some tourbillons, I see a very plain dress watch in the Audemars Piguet display area. I move closer to have a look and see that it must be a vintage piece, which I didn't think this place normally carries. I asked for some help and was presented with a very nice, slim, 18k gold hand wound dress watch. Hours and minutes only, stick markers, simple baton hands, with a black strap and champagne c
Estatic, NIB for a great discount. Tournau has offered a 3 year warranty that covers any damage I inflict, replacement of bands due to wear, sweat, etc. and cover a complete servicing. This is over an above the manufacturer warranty that only covers internal defects. Based on the cost of a band and a full service, the 500 seems like a no brainier to me. Any comments or past experiences they can share with me?
