Omega 311.30.44.50.01.001 wrist watches news:
This week's Bring A Loupe is mostly about chronographs, one of the most useful (if not the most useful) complications out there. I could not resist featuring a couple of Heuer and Universal Geneve; they simply look too good! You will also find a rare Eberhard Contograf with an interesting date display, and a smaller Submariner from Tudor. This is your Bring A Loupe for December 4, 2015. A Heuer Camaro 73443, With Exotic Dial 1 OF 10 A Heuer Camaro had already made its way into our favorite watches under $5,000. While this example might set you above this budget, it really demonstrates the appeal of the Camaro, especially this reference 73443 with the date at 6 o'clock. Frankly, this is one of the best looking and best preserved Camaros I have seen in a long time, with a stunningly sharp case, and a warm patina that nicely complements the two orange hands. In addition, it comes with the original Gay Freres bracelet, sporting the correct HLA endlinks. This w
I've reached a bit of a crossroads in my collecting/restoring activities. Up till now, i've been pretty successful with the homemade cleaning devices and solutions, and with cheap screwdrivers and tweezers and a smattering of more specialized tools. I've been pretty successful at bringing back to life a number of watches that were complete, but didn't run because they were dirty (you should have seen the grunge I found under an escape wheel cap jewel last night - Yechh!). However, I'm starting to run into the limits of my ability, and what my tools can do. I've got a couple projects stalled because they have broken balance staffs. Hitherto, I've been able to scrounge the correct balance from a parts movement, or find a balance complete on Dashto, but I've kind of hit the wall there. Replacing a balance staff is a whole 'nother thing from simply COA. Doing it right requires a number of specialized tools, and skills I don't have. It seems like the next step in my evolution will c
Hi everyone,I wondered of you could all help me with something?Firstly I think it's important to admit that when I start a thread here I often replicate the same thread on one or two other forums in order to garner more opinion. On this occasion I am not doing so because any topic surrounding ETA is so incendiary that I can only trust this to a forum that won't get embroiled in ETA "hating" and fan boys of one description or another. In other words - as sycophantic as this might sound - I trust I'll get some unbiased and serious answers on here.My question is around the ethics of ETA or the accuracy of them (I have no issue on that score - if other readers do then that's up to them and it is not the point of this thread). My query is around watches with the same ETA movement by different manufacturers. Let's take the Valjoux 7750 Movement. I have an IWC Portuguese Chronograph that I purchased a few years ago. This has the Valjoux 7750 Movement which is still remarkably accurate after 5
You're starting to give me the bug to get an AP. Curious, what's a good deal on a new or used AP percentwise? Is it similar to Rolex, or are the prices more flexible? We looking at 20-25% off new, 35% off used, or what? Thanks a lot you, you.... my mother warned me about guys like you!
Hello everyone, this is my first posting, well here is my question to all the watch enthusiasts, i have a classic watch that i know nothing about, it is a Swiss made Patek Philippe 18K Gold, i have tried to search for it endlessly online but have been unsuccessful at finding anything about it, i don't know what year its from, does anyone have any idea about it, my guess is 60-70's but it may be older than that, the back plate is labeled 3646, it is a wind up watch and does seem to work from what i know, i have the original bands but they are not in the best shape, any help would be most appreciated.
