Omega 2510-12 wrist watches news:

It arrived today. I was a little disappointed that the lume had fallen out of the hour hand. That must have happened at some point while the seller was disassembling and reassembling the watch, trying to attract gold scrappers. I suppose it might have happened at any point, including at my watchmakers', as it was likely unstable. Still a bummer. I know a craftsman who can match aged lume very well, so I'll eventually send it to him (not a sponsor, so if anyone wants a reference, PM me).Otherwise it's very sweet. I will have to get a glass crystal fitted however. I hate plastic replacement crystals on these. Seller's pic (again):And after a light Simichrome polish:Oops! Looks like the hairspring got loose! Will need a good overhaul.
Although I'm sticking with gears and springs for my watch needs, those of you out there with a techie bent will love these:Digital Retro: 10 Sundial & Hourglass Clocks & Watches | WebUrbanist
My wife and I are going to the Theatre this evening to see Wicked and a nice dinner beforehand at a nicer Italian restaurant. I thought it would be a good night to bring out two of our favorite watches. Happy Saturday everyone
For those of you with the Tudor Price Date Chrono (model 79260 and it's bezel variants) with the leather strap endlinks...........what's the thickest strap you have been able to fit at the lugs without the endlinks getting in the way?The factory tudor leather strap is quite thin where the springbar holes are in the strap, and then it gets thicker. Most aftermarket straps are quite thick at the springbar holes (most Hirsch straps are 4mm to 4.5mm) and I'm curious if they fit.I had a Tudor Hydronaut rubber strap and tried to install it on my Tudor chrono but the strap was too thick to fit. Unfortunately, I sold the strap without measuring it so I can't even use that measurement as a baseline.Thanksjames
