Just got a couple crotons. I love these two watches.
Well after my horrible experience with WOW and a broken swiss legend I still wanted a tungsten auto. A great guy on another forum helped me out and offered up for sale to me his croton tungsten auto with the SW200. Got it the other day and love it. No, its no rolex or hublot but I still love this thing and know its gonna get alot of wrist time. And then about a month ago I bought a Croton vortex from my local Sams Club and returned it after finding that Croton wasn't the elite brand the store claimed it to be. The one I had also had a few issues like a crooked bezel and scratches from it being handled so much. I was stupid and didn't want it anymore in fear I would be laughed at on this or another forum. Well I really really still liked the watch and missed it. I know its not a high end watch but I still really wanted it and regretted returning the one I had. So I ordered another from Sams and it arrived about an hour after the tungsten. It really is a nice watch and IMHO a million

What A Letdown!
So, my schedule at being manager at the thrift store has changed (Only 2 days a week now), and today came in what (I thought) was the best watch I've seen in the 9 months since I took over...A great looking G-Shock Frogman!Having no internet access at the store and not knowing very much about the many lines of G-Shocks that are available, I took the watch home and searched the net and.....fake as hell.But, the good thing is, I spent quite bit of time researching about these watches and learned just how much fake G-Shocks are out there. WOW! So, it gave me the opportunity to learn about a kind of watch I wasn't familiar with.Oh, BTW....I hate this fake being in my home!!

It took awhile to realize that this is the perfect travel companion that I have been looking/wishing for....1. Dive watch look and feel2. Dual time zones3. Light and thin4. Alarm!5. Grab and goThe original military strap looks awesome, but per the service centre lady, the lining material is leather. Could someone share if that's indeed true?

Previously Polished 5124g?
I have been looking at the 5124g for some time now. I absolutely love the watch; I think it's sensational. However, at $27.2k new, I think it's a bit much, especially considering what they go for pre-owned, and I have not found anyone willing to come off that price too much. However, a Patek AD I work with from time-to-time tells me they just got a pre-owned 5124g in from a collector. I asked why it wasn't on their website yet and the salesman said well, because it hasn't been serviced and polished yet. Most of my pre-owned knowledge comes from the world of Rolex, where polishing is very bad. I told him that if the watch was newer, and depending on condition, I would definitely want it unserviced and not polished. Am I just misinformed and this is standard protocol? This is a very reputable Patek AD. He gentleman also said that depending on if our watchmaker is allowed to work on it or not, it will go back to Patek in Manhattan, or stay here with our watchmaker. Rolex box compared to "the others"
I have just come from a what can be said lively dinner of 5, all enthusiasts of various brands , although , I was the only Explorer 2 wearer and was sitting 5 inches higher than the rest , due to the weight of Big hexagonal wrist armour pieces of the other 4 weighing down the table their side. I digress.. Long Story short... I mentioned that the Rolex box is not so important to me when I purchase. It is a classic, has a timeless design, and is not used to take away from the watch itself.I feel that It is also proof that Rolex place more importance in the design , engineering and longevity. Plus boxes would not increase the resale value by much.. now if one looks at say the new models of a lot of watches, they now appear to dwarf on completely overshadow the acquired piece itself.. a bullshit con to up the price.Use the funds to make the watch I say.
