Carl F. Bucherer’s triple-time-zone chronograph watch, the TravelTec, gets a matte-black makeover at Baselworld 2016. Previously available in steel and rose-gold variations, the newest version of the Carl F. Bucherer Patrvai TravelTec features a scratch-resistant black DLC coating.The wafer-thin but exceptionally durable DLC (diamond-like carbon) finish on the TravelTec is applied in a multi-stage process, enhancing both the scratch-resistance and shock absorption of the 46.6-mm stainless steel case as well as the stainless steel bracelet (which is outfitted with a black DLC-coated folding clasp). The dark, monotone look echoes that of the black dial, which displays three time zones simultaneously, the third by means of a central red hand pointing to a rotating 24-hour scale on the dial’s flange. In what was, in general, a somewhat subdued Baselworld, and one in which we saw more incremental improvements than spectacular debuts, there were still a few new product introductions that really stood out. One of the most memorable, and certainly one of the most unexpected, was from Seiko: the FUGAKU Tourbillon, a limited edition of eight pieces. This is nothing less than Seiko's very first in-house tourbillon (for that matter, Seiko's first tourbillon of any kind) and both the technical inventiveness of the FUGAKU, as well as its colorful interpretation of a famous work of art ¨C The Great Wave Off Kanagawa, by the Edo-period artist known as Hokusai ¨C caught many of us off guard, and challenged, once again, our notion of what to expect from Seiko. worth repairing?
I was given 2 watch's. One was a Rolex (Keeper-in shop for a complete set up) The other was sorta like- 'Take that other watch too'. Turns out it was a 1962 Omega seamaster de ville.550 movement.14K gold filled case.Original omega band.Rare dial in a 'Basket weave'. It runs fine, just fast. What kind of money are we talking to have this baby fixed properly. (I saw one dude had a similar watch and sent it to omega to get cleaned and tuned.There estimate was $780!) I am not really that excited about it. I would rather just keep the rolex for 'nights out', and buy a nice sieko for all around day use.(Ok maybie two siekos-one 'beater! Takes a licking............................
and keeps on ticking!!!!! So, I get dispatched to a found property call. A lady walking her dog finds a briefcase in a ditch and instead of throwing it into the nearest dumpster, she naturally calls the local PD (since we answer the phone). I get there and see this mess, briefcase in a million pieces, tons of rotten papers from the 60's, couple of pairs of eyeglasses, check stubs, and a vintage SS Timex. This briefcase had been in the mud and snow for God only knows how long. I take the mess back to the station and start to inventory it and try to find it's owner. Dispatch finds a relative in town. I pick up the manual wind Timex, it's all covered in mud and the band has fallen apart. Give her a full wind and she starts right up and keeps time for the rest of the night!!!!. Hope the relative doesn't throw it in the dumpster but cleans it up and gives it to a family member!!!

AP Online warranty extension
Hi! Just wanted to make anyone who wasn't aware you can now extend the warranty of your AP online now on their website. I wasn't aware of this until my AD told me the other day and also new watches now come with 5 years warranty (providing you extend the warranty online).I managed to extend mine even though I bought it preowned on eBay, you can also register the watch under your AP user account which I think is pretty neat.
