Newbie from South Africa... (UPDATED)
Well never thought of myself as a collector - have just always liked watches.Here's my collection:Tag Heuer Carrera (kept in safe)Rotary Evolution (kept in safe and have never seen another one)TW Steel Canteen (kept in safe)Seiko (kept in safe) - this was a 21st birthday present from my late father. I've not worn this a lot, and prefer to keep it hidden away for sentimental reasons.Police Automatic (kept in safe)Nixon The Murf daily watchHoping to expand my 'collection'...

Just sold my Tag...
Just sold my Tag 2000 series watch that was a gift from the (now ex) wife. Needed the money and didn't want the reminder of who gave it to me. I replaced it with a Timex Expedition chronograph for $50. This watch is actually a lot more fun to wear than the Tag. I can actually see it at night with the built in light, and it doesn't die on me if I didn't move around enough during the day! And it does more than tell the time. :) I actually think something was wrong with the Tag, it didn't stay wound very well. I frequently looked at my wrist to check the time only to see it motionless. It was also impossible to keep the bezel from getting scratched to hell.I also have an Invicta that sadly is inop because the crown broke off. So, we'll see if the Timex can take a licking. Eventually I'd like to build a collection of mechanical watches because they are interesting, but for those of you just starting don't think that the more $$$ you spend the more you'll like the watch. Hell I like

...is on my wrist. I've had an interest in this watch for years, due to its combination of digital and analog technology. In high school, my dad gave me a Seiko Sports 100, which had an analog face with a dive watch look, but also had a digital readout. Very handy and served me well for years, until my dad gave me his Omega Speedmaster Professional and my love for classic mechanical watches with an adventurous feel was born. I'd debated the Aerospace's utility, in a world of iPhones. Nonetheless, I decided I wanted one good quartz watch with various functions. The Aerospace is that watch, for me. I bought it yesterday.
