Hello from a new member/question about IWC repair
Hi, I've just joined the forum and shall start browsing immediately.I've got a question regarding a IWC Fliegerchrono which I've bought some 8 years ago or so while I lived in Singapore.I dropped the watch some time ago and after that it sometimes just stopped running for some reason. Later on I saw that the upper pusher was loose and I was able to tighten it a bit by hand and there you go, she started ticking again.Thought I'll have it fixed someday and so it's been sitting in the box for some two years ago. Unfortunately there is no licensed dealer close to where I live (Grand Rapids/MI) and so I was wondering where to have it fixed. I called a licensed repair facility here in the US and needless to say, the prices were pretty astronomical. So now I'm wondering if all of you guys really send your IWC's in or have somebody locally who repairs/maintains them.Would appreciate any input since in a way the watch is too nice to just sit there.Thanks

Hey guys,No incoming for me at this time. But I did manage to put this watch together with some help (the watch was from my basic watchmaking course) and it will be a gift for my wife on her coming birthday. It is an ETA 2804-2 Manual hand wind, 17 Jewel with Date movement. Here is the restored (partial) 1974 Speedmaster
I have a 1974 Omega Speedmaster that needs a full movement service due to some rust. It's not gunked up, but a few parts need to be replaced. We normally service Rolex but I prefer to send this one out to Omega. What Omega Service Center will accept this watch and not touch the dial or refinish it as I do not want it looking new. Any advice is much appreciated.
