Last Friday night, at almost 1:00 AM, I was just about to go to bed, when I thought I'd check the 'Elgin' listings on Ebay one last time before bed. One of them caught my eye. It was an uncommon watch, but one I thought I'd seen before. I was pretty sure it was one of the solid gold ones. I checked out the other pictures, and there it was, right underneath the engraving, upside down..."14k Gold Apex" For $49.00. FORTY NINE DOLLARS!!!! I hit the "Buy It Now" button so fast an hard I was afraid I'd break my mouse!THEN I checked through the ads. Sure enough, not only is it solid gold, but also it was pretty much top of the line! $200, when other solid gold watches were $100-150. $2000, adjusted for inflation! For $49.00. New member here - question about the Benrus Dial-O-Rama!
Searched all over the internet about this watch, and happily stumbled onto this forum. You guys have some incredible Benrus watches in primo condition!Anyways, I have this Benrus inherited from my father, and it would be important to me to get it ship shape and wearable again.I don't know much about wind-up watch care, but I have been told that it has not been worn on a regular basis in the last 35 to 40 years. Probably because the second hand center star had come off at some point.Can anyone please direct me to someone who can TRUST to repair and/or restore this beauty? Paying picture debt, Final Part
Today I took the pictures of the first watch I got, and the one I was waiting to take with my new DSLR, but unfortunately, no DSLR, so as I didn't want to keep the debt unpaid, here it is, pics from my littlest P&S...No need for introduction for this folk...The mandatory wrist shot...I tried to make a composition over the nice red bag the AD gave me when I got the watchwell still I have to learn a lot about photography Anyway, picture debt to WTF is now paid in full until I got another watch , Dennis, please erase me from your list Seriously, I ordered the Omega Constellation Double Eagle Perpetual Calendar, don't know when it will show up,as it's the first time I order from my AD, usually I buy what they have in stockI guess two months, but even they don't know , so let's wait...
