Panerai PAM00297 wrist watches news:
When is a limited edition a limited edition?Yesterday, during a luncheon speech one of the attendees asked the above question. As we see more and more limited editions appearing I thought my answer to this question might be of interest to more than just the limited number of attendees yesterday. ;-)What constitutes a limited edition? In my understanding it could be a watch commemorating an event. For instance a get-together of car enthusiasts. A very special sports event. The opening of a building. The watch either offered or sold at such an event should have a special caption either on the dial or on the bottom of the case clearly stating the event. It could also be a watch that is manufactured for a very short period of time but never in excess of 50 to 100 units. What is important here is that the tools to manufacture the special dial, the special case or whatever renders this particular watch a limited item in volume is never used again in the future for a series watch. The term li
I've been intrigued by bronze cases for quite awhile. As a diver and fan of all things nautical, a bronze diver seemed a logical addition to the collection. And the gold-like color is a look I really enjoy. However, I've never been a fan of the "vintage patina' look many vintage watches get, and feared the bronze would be no different and I'd constantly be cleaning it to restore to it's original color. Well I decided to "man up" and give it a try and so I sold off another watch to fund it and not too long ago picked up a nice preowned from one of our great members here.I really liked the watch from the second I saw it. It's a great look, and looked great on the wrist. I cleaned it a few times, and wasn't sure which way I liked it. I'd had a dive trip to Boca Raton / Pompano Beach planned, so I decided to take it with me and get it where it was designed to be - Diving! Here's the results of the case reaction to the salt water after diving..Started the trip with the watch just cl
Well, I've been here six months now and I've learned loads and have tried to impart what knowledge I have. Thank you everyone for having me here!
Hi Guys,I am on the hunt for a nice leather strapped watch. I have two steel ones, Citizen and Invicta that I both love, but I want something a little different next. The top of my price range for right now is about $500, however, if I find something thats a little more expensive that I love I have no problem waiting a while to get it. As for what I'm looking for, I would want a watch that has a case diameter of greater than 40mm, and has a chronograph feature, or some other feature so it doesn't look too "fancy". I'm not looking for a dress watch, but something that would look good with both work boots and dress shoes and everything inbetween. I really like the Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Watch #BL5250-02L but I also want to see what else is out there before I make my decision. Swiss would be a plus :).As of right now, my favorite leather strap watch is the Sinn 6100 Regulateur, but I have to wait for a while for that one.So guys, any suggestions?-Pete
Cheers everyone
