Panerai 1500 wrist watches news:
Does the Rolex warranty run with the watch rather than the owner? IOW, if one buys a Rollie from, say, a sales forum that was bought from an AD and the cards/papers are all in order, will a new owner have the benefit of the remaining warranty?TIA
To celebrate what I believe will be a promotion today I'm looking for a watch. I found a Maurice Lacroix PT 6068 and immediately fell in love with it. It had everything. GMT, Guilloche, Leather/bracelet, Exhibition case back with a cool design around the sapphire crystal, ETA movement and the works. I bid higher than I've ever bid on a watch before and lost by $5.00 this morning. I'm upset but it has me on a quest to mark this occasion with my nicest watch to date. I wanted to show the watch first because I absolutely love it.Maybe this picture is better:SoWhat do you think? I love it. I need one like it but I can't justify the purchase at retail and they don't come up on ebay all that often. Is there anything like it from a classy brand like ML? I was willing to spend $500 on this watch but lost it. I'm looking for modern and dress since I have some divers and vintage. Swiss movement is necessary, and I love exhibition case backs + guilloche!
What do you prefer to tell time with, an analog or a digital watch? My self I love digital. Problem is analog watches look so much more classy. What's your preference and why?
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) About 30 years after deciding to develop its jewelry line over its watch business, Tiffany & Co. said it's finally paying attention to the long-neglected segment. The luxury retailer announced this past weekend it will partner with Swatch Group, its biggest partnership in its 170-year history.marketwatch/news/stor...59FBDBE6199%7D
Female watch makers? The other day someone asked me about female watch creators or watch makers.I was somewhat out of my depth and had to admit that I know not even a hand-full of female watch creators. The most inspiring is Mrs. Saskia Maaike Bouvier from Geneva. To my knowledge she is the only female watch creator focusing not on design only but being an accomplished watch maker taking equal care of the mechanical side of her watches. This year Mrs. Bouvier shall show her watches at Baselworld at the booth of the AHCI, the acad¨¦mie horlog¨¨re des cr¨¦ateurs ind¨¦pendants (Academy of Horology of the Independent Watch Creators). She is currently a candidate to become a full-fledged member of the AHCI. The members of the AHCI are ones being at the avant-garde of horology and their booth is one of the few fixed points of abode I have at Baselworld.I am particularly curious to take a closer look at Mrs. Bouvier¡¯s latest creation The Eight Moon or in French huit lunes.
