Casio Oceanus Anti-Reflective Coating
Cross-Posted from Watchuseek Casio Forum:I've heard back from the customer service people at Casio Japan, and have learned from them that Casio does not put double-sided anti-reflective (AR) coating on any of their high-end Oceanus watchesonly single coating on the inside of the crystal. (And, I would guess that this means that they don't put it on their other watches either.) I was a little surprised to learn this. I think their reason is that outside-crystal AR coating can be scratched. There are two schools of thought on the desirability of double AR-coating, with those in favor liking the greatly reduced reflectiveness it affords (I'm in this camp), while those opposed noting the susceptibility to scratching. I now have two Oceanus Manta models (OCW-S1050 and OCW-S1100) and would dearly love to be able to get the sapphire crystals double-coated. However, Casio has informed me that they won't do this. One alternative would be to go with an after-market AR-coating specialist, I guess

Need help distinguishing common from scarce or rare
Hello Everyone, and it is a pleasure to finally join this site.Before I get into the more detailed conversations, I own many Hamilton watches, but couldn't distinguish a popular or valuable Hamilton from a "common" Hamilton.As a kid, my collectible interests were baseball cards, and there, the person and the scarcity ( production numbers of cards in circulation ) would denote value.I AM SURE A GOOGLE REQUEST SOME MONTHS AGO TOOK ME TO A THREAD HERE WHICH GAVE SUCH A LIST, AT THE TOP OF THE POST.Can anyone help me locate that post so I can sort my watches by scarcity/rarity?Thank you in advance!!P.S. Incoming today, very happy of my choice, the dial is true white and my first white Panerai. The final choice was between the PAM563 and this one. Ok, the dial is busy, but what to expect from a Chrono, and I love the position of the date, although many purists say a date does not belong on a Chrono, I love it.The brushed luminor case sits nicely on the wrist and with the shiny tachymeter bezel....beautiful contrast. The chrono pushers are nicely integrated in the also shiny crown guard. Remark that the lever of the crownguard is the other way.First thing I had to do is to change the strap as I'm not a big fan of folding clasps. Next this watch will be my companion for the summer and water activities, whenever the summer decides to come here....
