Patek Philippe 2417 wrist watches news:
Just purchased this!!! So excited for my first Rolex!!IMG_1096.jpg
Hi Guys,I¡¯m a new member here, but I¡¯m a TZ regular. I¡¯m glad there is a dedicated Glycine forum here! I just acquired a base 22 GA which is my second airman, the first being the airman 8. I like the watch but I¡¯m having some difficulty training myself to read the time correctly. I followed the Glycine setting directions which are not written well and I want to see if I¡¯ve done it right. I¡¯ve set the blue hour hand (12 hours )to my local time and the 24 hour hand to my local time as well. The bezel is set to GMT. As a look at the time my eye naturally wants to follow the arrow hand (24 hour) to tell the time in the 12 hour format. I¡¯m having difficulty focusing on the blue hand (12 hour) to see the time in the 12 hour format. I¡¯ve read several articles and posts about how GA is different from the GMT model in terms of functionality, compared to the GMT but I¡¯m not seeing it, it seems to be the same. Can some of you GA owners help me out and explain how the GA can bet set and how i
I’ve been thinking of doing a thread like this for a while, kind of an inside view into the head of a compulsive vintage watch collector. This will detail one month’s purchases from the auction to the final on the wrist results. Might interest some of you. Might be enlightening to some who are just starting down the path to addiction. Might hit a little close to home for others. It will likely be a long post so anyone intolerant of rambling or who might be disturbed by the ugly underbelly of our hobby will want to change the channel.First the Ebay score:22 auctions won:$481.47 in bids $141.66 in shipping (items from Italy, England and Israel)Grand total $623.12Not an unusual month. An interesting idea has come up in the General Discussion Forum in the middle of this thread:http://www.watchtalkforums.info/foru...n-watches.htmlBrad has hypothesized that Hamilton is the best value in vintage watches (particularly solid gold cased versions) and I put Longines up against them. While he may very well be right, it would be fun to do a comparison of average selling prices. I ask only one thing - I will be seriously out numbered so try not to gang up on me too harshly! Now for the basics:- What specific lines do you think we should put head to head? I'll start with the 770 against the 30L / LS. Both calibers were considered the top of their respective manufacturer's line-ups, and of course both were in-house movements. Both also were inside several different series of watches over the years. - How to judge price? We can't use asking prices, but actual selling prices from closed listings on eBay are good data. What/where else can we look?Okay fire away! I'm putti
Have just ordered an aftermarket rubber strap for my Panerai 233. It is a Bonatto Cinturini. As anyone used this strap before. I am not sure if the holes can fit tubes in. Will it cause any damage if i mount the straps without using the tubes and just pit the push pins in?
