Cartier W31077U2 wrist watches news:
While this isn't the all-black UR-110 Torperdo watch from URWERK (that I discussed hands-on here), this is a special limited edition version closer to that with a black coated dial and caseback. The original version was in naked titanium. It looked interesting but many people claimed that it looked a bit unfinished. Eagerly awaiting a black-coated model, URWERK has now presented this UR-110 ZrN Torpedo model to us. The black coated dial does look very nice - especially with its red and electric green elements. Rather than a black case front, it is now titanium coated with Zirconium Nitride (ZrN).The result is a color that looks a bit like champagne. Because of this URWERK calls the watch the Torpedo "Champagne Supernova." With such a lofty title, I do hope that the watch does not live up to its highly destructive name. Imagine the bubbles and pieces of cork being hurled millions of light years in each direction.Limited to just 12 pieces the UR-110 ZrN Torpedo Champagne Supernova will b
I've got either a '67 or '68 Omega Speedmaster Professional. My mother bought it for my father when we were stationed on Guam back in the '60s. How the wife of an E-6 Petty Officer was able to afford that with 4 kids to support I don't know!Anyhow, since it's now in my hands I want to see if there are any good looking bracelets out there. My father was murder on bracelets for this watch so I know it's not anywhere near the original, though it is an Omega. It's just a little less "beefy" for my preferences. So what do you guys have on your Speedmasters? Anything that really compliments the watch and your wrist?Just an FYI...I'm a big man, 6'4", 270lbs. Hence the desire for a "beefy" bracelet.
What do you think about buying from overseas? I have only found a couple of sites that carry an Orient that I'm looking at. All of them are located overseas. I take it by the time they ship and get through customs I'll be in way over my head.
Info and pics from Watchbuys:Limes watches are another success story from Pforzheim, Germany, and owe their origins to the Ickler family. In 1924, Karl Ickler founded a case company in his name, which was later rebuilt after the wars by Heinz and Kurt Ickler.Ickler GmbH became known for making high quality watch cases for customers throughout the world. In fact, when viewing our web site, or walking into the finest watch stores in New York or Geneva, you'd be surprised to know the number of Ickler cases you are seeing on the world's top brands. They're that good.Today, the family business is run by third generation case maker Thomas Ickler. Thomas had a dream to build a limited number of hand produced watches using Ickler cases and Swiss movements, and thus the brand Limes (pronounced "Leem-ess") was born. Thomas is passionate when describing and showing his watches, and is pride is genuine. Besides being one of the nicest individuals in the watch business, Thomas is a perfectionist wh
I have a 5055, white gold, black face, deployment buckle that I want to sell. It definitely needs a polishing and the strap needs to be replaced. Would you recommend having it polished and changing the strap if sell it to a AD? Or am I wasting money making the watch look new again as a dealer realizes exactly what needs to be done to get the watches appearance back up to snuff. Also, if anyone could point me in the direction of any dealers that I could contact for a possibly sale. Thanks in advance.
