IWC IW354702 wrist watches news:
IWCĄŻs latest release has 550 parts and weighs a hefty 4 kilograms. It was three years in the making. ItĄŻs sure to delight watch lovers everywhere, though it does not tell time. ItĄŻs a book. As you would expect, IWC Schaffhausen. Engineering Time Since 1868 chronicles the companyĄŻs history from the founding in 1868, but it also includes an unexpected Ą°book within a bookĄ±. More about that in a minute. The book has three authors. German journalist Manfred Fritz presents the comprehensive company history, compiled with careful attention to historical accuracy. Fritz comes from the area near Schaffhausen and he is a genuine watch enthusiast who has published a number of watch-related books. He previously authored Die Grande Complication von IWC (The Grande Complication of IWC), published in 1991. The book includes 500 illustrations, many of which have never been published before. The historical section looks closely at each of IWCĄŻs watch families dating back to the mid-1930s. The section c
I was really happy to see a new Royal Oak Concept watch. It is hard to explain where this collection fits in to the Audemars Piguet watch collection. They aren't quite Royal Oaks, and they aren't quite Royal Oak Offshores. Rather, they are highly futuristic looking high-end watches that are another Royal Oak collection all together. There are a few Royal Oak Concept watches. The first one came out in 2002 as a 30th anniversary model of the Royal Oak watch. Since then a handful of these watches were released in a few different versions. The most recent model was the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Carbon Concept Tourbillon Chronograph. The case design has been consistent since the first Concept watch. What has changed are the materials and complications in the movement. The 2011 Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon GMT is one of the most simple versions, but very elegant in its design. It features the time, a tourbillon, and a GMT second time zone dial. At the bottom of the watch is a simple selection
It is not often one receives a gift from the person that is leaving, but a few days ago, Al Dodson who had been a lecturer at the National Watch and Clock School was returning to his home - Kentucky. Al had become a great friend to me here at the museum, apart from teaching me some watch repair, we used to chat daily on Horology and his knowledge combined with my enthusiasm took us along so many different paths of horology. Its about 1 week since Al left, and I miss him here a lot - he left me 'Dennis' to keep me company. Dennis! Dennis Who? Not 'Dennis the menace? No 'Dennis' the Hamilton. A lovely 64 year old friend. Here you go a yellow gold filled 1948 Hamilton 'Dennis'Now The Movement - 980 - 17 Jewel. S/no.
