Patek Philippe 4906J-001 wrist watches news:
For Baselworld 2009, Ulysse Nardin introduces the Lady Diver Starry Night. This sporty yet elegant timepiece measures 40mm in diameter and is available in 18 carat rose gold on a variety of rubber straps. Dials in black or white are set with 27 diamonds. The sapphire display back offers a view of the diamond-set 22 carat rotor. The Lady Diver is water resistant to 100 meters.
This a franken? If not what is it? Seems like a cross between a new case & old dial. Thanks for any input.
So I picked up this cool watch for pretty cheap. I only intended to "flip" the thing. After opening it I discovered the movement was changed (to a more reliable Shiojiri)So its a great running watch. I have only seen dead ones, with the org movement. So my question is this.....would you rather have a classic watch, that has a non-original, more reliable movement, or the other?ThanksJustinhamilton elec .jpg
New member here. I have had the watch bug since I was a kid and remember my mom buying my dad a beautiful blue dial seiko automatic that was an expensive christmas gift, at least in our house. A couple of years ago I picked up a few estate watches, ebay, flea market finds etc. This past year I have been buying, selling, blasting, buffing everything I can get my hands on!OK so I pieced this together from parts. details below. What do you think?I am quite happyCase - tauchmeister from the bayReplace the Chinese movement with a Miyota 8215 (exact size, exact stem match)Carbon fiber sticker from auto parts storeCitizen Dive HandsOriginal sweep hand from Tauchmeister"Prestige" band from target 20R with brushed buckle
It pays to be jaded and skeptical about the statement "just serviced" in an eBay listing. I never, ever believe it and plan on adding the cost of a COA to the price. After wearing the watch once or twice it goes to Sam for proper care. Well, I've been testing this recent acquisition...watchtalkforums.info/foru...-incoming.html...and I'm starting to believe the seller was truthful about it being just serviced. It keeps time to within a few seconds a day, and the power reserve is 56.5 hours. I had to check it twice to make sure I didn't mess up the date & time I started checking it. I don't think I've ever come across a vintage watch from eBay that performed as well on arrival. It's still making the next trip to Sam's shop with me for pictures, but I don't think he'll have much to do to it. I'll post them when I get a few good shots - I want the Seamaster column wheel caliber 321 next to the De Ville cam caliber 861 for a comparison.
