Roger Dubuis M34 5739 0 9.7A wrist watches news:
As a unique collaboration with the MIH (the Mus¨¦e International d¡¯Horlogerie), Zenith introduces a great new member of their Captain family of watches. With a base in-house made El Primero Chronograph movement, Zenith and the MIH have developed a special new module that adds a very legible and practical annual calendar complication to the mix. In total you get the high-beat El Primero automatic movement, a 60 minute chronograph, and an annual calendar with the date, day, and month. All that and a lit Ludwig.Ludwig? Yea, you know Ludwig right? I of course mean Ludwig Oechslin, and by MIH I really him. He is the curator of the MIH and a friggin' genius. One of his most interesting achievements was the creation of the "trilogy" set of astronomical watches for Ulysse Nardin in the 1990s. Oechslin is unique because he didn't start his life as a watch maker until he was about 30. Before that he was a mathematician. He is particularly good at engineering concepts requiring complex calculation
.....because I can't stop looking at the Day-Dates, wishing to have one on my wrist.. Or more specifically the Day Date II's Though one of my first experiences with Rolex was a Day Date (the guy I worked for in high school had one) I was never really taken to them. Too much gold, too "old looking" (no offense to anyone - I'm talking about a teen / 20-year olds thoughts), or just too small on the wrist. Whatever the reason, I've just never spent too much time looking at them...The past 9 months or so I've really become more intrigued with them and they're gaining ground as a watch for the collection. The look, history (as much as the Sub IMO) and the Basel release of a 41mm version all had fueled the Day-Date fire.I'm no where near ready to pull the trigger on one, but at times I'm really tempted.. I find myself wishing for smaller wrists so a 36mm would fit me without looking like a ladies model.Any one else out there always thought the DD's weren't a watch they ever consider (from
Hello,I bought a Seiko SKX007K2 dive watch last night on Amazon. The company the watch is coming from is XX Company. I looked at XX Company's feedback on Amazon and it was rated at 97%. A few people had complained that their Seiko's did not come in a Seiko box, just a plain black box. There was also no Seiko warranty, but it did come with the seller's warranty. Product manuals were copies. I figured it was grey market after reading that. I sent an email to XXCompany about if the watches were indeed grey market or possibly fakes or replicas, and I got a fast reply this morning.Hi Andrew,SKX007 is an international Seiko model, you cannot find it in American market. It comes with one year seller's box and warranty. We sell only authentic brand new watches.Best regards.ChrisIndeed I could not find the SKX007K2 (has jubilee stainless band) on the Seiko USA website. I believe the "K" after the 7 means Malaysia? Could not find the SKX007 on the Seiko USA website.I guess I'm getting the "intern
Hi all,Just as a head's up: Two sellers currently have Trent models up for auction on the bay that are incorrectly described as being Romanesque S from 1960. I doubt folks here would be snookered on these, but thought I would post just the same. One is a private seller, auction #370439041058. The other is a vendor whose auction and name cannot be mentioned here, but is no doubt well-known to vintage collectors. Let's just say that he is in WA state and has great photos with lots of fluffy descriptive text accompanying his auctions. For someone who sells that many vintage pieces he should know better. When I saw Romanesque in the title I got excited for a minute because I've seen Mark's example here. It is a beautiful model for sure, but these two are but standard Trents. (not that there is anything wrong with Trents, they are nice lookers for sure!)
So I finally got one sealed and to be quiet honest, I'm moderately underwhelmed. Not sure why they are in such demand as my 5167 is a better go to piece IMO. Anyway, not sure if I gong to keep it or flip it at this point. Cheers.
