why ? ....well, from a distance and if you squint, this is a good looking watch ....but if you stop squinting, and hit the higher power () the dial starts to look more than a little.....shall we say ..????? strange .....ok let's say it .....The dial looks strange .....I feel so much better ......whew anyway .....any musings about this stange dial from our resident experts on Hamiltons ? .....and aside from that question.....oops better post the link before I forget Vintage 1951 Hamilton TODD Gold Filled 18J Watch RUNS anyway .....when my Dad was alive, it was nice ....any medical question ? ...got a live in expert......( and you'd be surprised how many times you have a question that it takes a doctor to answer) if I have a question about my ADHD , or something happens that only they would understand ....I have my ADD forum......and nowdays, if I have a question about anything at all .....I have my cheezefrend ....they know everything ......about life .....but it is also ince , and i
First, hello. I just joined. I've had a budget watch collection for a while but have recently started getting into vintage watches and learning about watches in general. I was asked to refurbish a bunch of watches for someone who sells them at a Lions Club thrift store. Included in the pile of every day Japan movement low end watches were a bunch of vintage watches, some of them being Swiss and automatics. I'm keeping those as payment for helping with the other watches. One of those watches is a LaMarque branded chrono with a 149 movement. The dial and movement are both in outstanding condition however I have one problem. The watch runs and two of the three chrono functions work however the start/stop button does not start the timer. Based on what I've read, the top button is the start/stop button and the bottom button is the reset button. I can start the timer by using a small screwdriver to move the lever. Once it has been started I can then use the top button to stop the timer and th
I just completed a successful sale of one of my Invictas to SynMike and I wanted to give him a shout out as an upfront guy with which to do business. Thanks, Mike for the smooth transaction and great communication during the process. (Sorry, again, that I called you so early that Saturday AM.)
I've been working with an AD in the EU on purchasing my first Patek and am trying to figure out what the duty would be when sending to the US where I reside. I've read conflicting percentages on different threads in this forum and want to be sure because the difference could be in the thousands.I've used the duty import calculator online that Pitney Bowes has and have come up with two different numbers between the AD and I. The calculator is confusing if you're unfamiliar. His number is quite different from mine and it almost makes the purchase not worth it, however, the number I used makes it worthwhile with the FX and VAT back. Does anyone have any experience in shipping a watch to the US? Any advice is appreciated.
