Patek Philippe 5135P-001 wrist watches news:
i would like to get my carlos coste polishedhas anyone had any luck finding jewelers willing to polish titanium in the washington dc area??thanks!- bdz
I recently picked this one up at an online auction. It is from 2004, casebase says 7S26-0570 and on movement 7S26A. Seller advised it needed a good shake to get going, guess this was my warning but I carried on and purchased it anyway. So after a good shake the watch runs but only holds power for maybe 2 or 3 hours, less if I am driving. If the watch is laid face up on the desk it will run maybe 8 hours. Any suggestions ?
Greetings All,I started a thread some time ago regarding a database for watches (link). After the initial work it sort of languished into nothing and, truth be told, I went back to tracking information in a spreadsheet. I wasn't happy with the direction of the tool I was building and couldn't really find the base for a tool to build from.I got the itch to tackle this again and found a better tool for moving forward. I am pretty pleased with the results so far and thought I would, again, ask for feedback and input. If people like, I can then send you the template file so you too can satisfy the OCD inner being that many of us possess. Here is the "home" page with a picture of each watch (we all take pictures, right?):Here is the watch detail page:What do you think?B
As you see, this is my second post here. I followed a friend and decided to try and find a good topic to kick it off. It started with the nice review on the front page of the Lum-Tec TungstenWhat is tungsten? According to WikiPedia it is one of the toughest materials and often used in superalloysAhaaaaaSo, good thing to chew on. We've seen and know of 316L, 904L, titanium, all shades of gold and platinum, but what about the special creations with exotic characteristics? Let's kick it off - LumTec use Tungsten Carbide. The material is approximately three times stiffer than steel and is much denser than steel or titanium. (copy+paste from Wikipedia). Almost impossible to scratch (unlike titanium, which scratches easy). Who else uses super alloys? What's special about them? Wanna play?
