Audemars Piguet Celebrates its 135th Anniversary and Launches a New Royal Oak Offshore
On October 5, Audemars Piguet Japan held the brand’s 135th anniversary and new product launch party in the ¡°Choice!¡± restaurant on the third floor of Tokyo’s prestigious Ark Mori building. The event was attended by 500 guests including VIPs, celebrities and media. The evening included the launch of a new Royal Oak Offshore limited edition. Mr. Go Mugino, Chief Executive Officer of Audemars Piguet Japan, introduced the evening¡¯s first “special guests”: brand founders Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet appeared in a hologram to greet attendees. Through the wonders of technology, they talked about the history of AP and the watch industry in general, and how things have changed since the time they first started. I wish I could say that it was a struggle and that the elements were against me. The truth is that most of my writing has flowed smoothly from my fingers to your screen. With lots more to write about each day, my only limitation is time and your attention span. If I could write full time about watches, and perhaps other items of interest; I would gladly.So unlike the battles in the movie 300, my personal 300 have been easier to accomplish, and with far fewer special effects. Though I am sure painted on abdominal muscles (a la the movie), would have use from time to time.I have no plans of stopping my writing of course, and hope you'll stick around for more. You'll notice typos and minor mistakes from time to time in the articles. I apologize for this, it is the trade-off of writing so frequently and with such organic composure. It is either ultra-polished content when I get around to it, or the words directly from my thoughts as they flow, allowing for the frequency with which I post.

Lookee What Just Came in the Mail ! (and Help !)
so.....in a box of grab bag watches, I found this ! ....I haven't yet cleaned it up, and it's a 6 jewel quartz movement, 740.....and while I do appreciate that whoever owned this watch did NOT leave the battery in to drip battery acid all over the inside.( I think the compartment looks pretty clean) It's a bit of a b**** because there's no indication of the correct battery size.......now ordinarily, I'd just eyeball the size and try out a couple, but this is a Hamilton .....and really would rather not risk shorting it out......Does anyone know where I might find the correct battery for this guy ? or , maybe even know it ? thanks !

Since I am fairly new at starting a collection I would like some advise from the experts on taking care of my watches - how often do you get serviced? Are you able to do anything yourselves? Any hints will help.Thank in advance for yor help since I not only want a nice collection I want to maintain it. pjh
