Cartier Cartier 5535 wrist watches news:
Being a Freemason, I collect lots of Masonic items. Rings, Watches, old Past Masters Jewels, you get the idea. Recently bought a vintage Hamilton Masonic dial for a great price. On the envelope it says "747" and under it 95749. Could the 747 be the Hamilton movement number??? It's small and rectangular like the Hamilton dials from the 40's. It has the place for the sub hand, and on the back of the dial are two protruding pins at 11:00 and 5:00. Any ideas???
I really didn't mean to buy a watch today, but I stopped in a pawn shop to look at CB radios not watches, but I had to look at them and found this. It is brand new, never worn or even sized. They were asking a wopping 29.99. I feel like I shoplifted it. It's a Wenger dive 200m watch. Well, this puppy's getting sized today and will have wrist time this weekend.:D
I don't normally watch Dr. Phil (I felt I needed to say that), but I turned on the TV and there he was WITH AN AWESOME WATCH. I grabbed my camera and got a bad, fuzzy lo-res photo. I love this watch. It has huge bling factor. It seemed very familiar to me so I opened my 2011 watch catalogue, but didn't find it. Not in the 2009 either. It is a gold, square/tonneau-shaped chronograph with Roman numerals. The buttons reminded me of a Cartier Pasha, but it is not a Pasha. It did not take me long to find it. Any guesses?????If you happened to see me post the watch by mistake - don't ruin it for the guessers.
Personally, I don't condone Frankenwatches, but this .flickr/photos/shaneli...7624117378632/ mod has me salivating. If OMEGA made this, there is virtually no price that I wouldn't pay for one.
My 5513 is my first vintage Rolex and perhaps among my favorite watches ever but I will be the first to admit, I am scared to use it as a daily wearer as its unpolished and perfect IMO. My solution was to get a 14060 and so I did, but alas, it just doesn't have the same good looks or feel and so I am on the fence about letting it go, allow me to explain; My conclusion, is that IMO if you are getting a non super case Submariner, it should be a 5513, 1680, but if you are going modern, IMO the case, lugs and bracelet of a 114060 is superior to that of the 14060 or 16610. thoughts on my above statement?
