Patek Philippe 5000-J wrist watches news:
Got a new addition to the collection today and, to be completely honest, I never saw it comin'.I went to the AD that I thought was having a sale this weekend (it's actually next weekend, and only on pre-owned watches; I read the postcard wrong). I was looking at their pre-owned selection and honed in on a nice Omega Speedmaster. At 38mm, it was a tad smaller than I usually like, but it was really nice. It was also priced rather nicely.I walked over to the Ball showcase; all new, no pre-owned, and immediately started checking out the Hydrocarbons. I've always like these, and they were only barely enough out of my price range that I would've made the extra reach and gotten one. That is, had I not tried on the Engineer Master II Aviator.Man.I liked everything about it.I was given a very nice price and, when the gift card the dealer sent me for my birthday was added in, I was hooked. It left the store on my wrist. I'm going to take some proper photos of it, but here's a quick shot:My wife
Good morning !!
So it got a little hot and decided to see if I could oil the wheels of the economy a bit.. while looking for something for my wife, I came across THE Ti.. I was very pleased to feel how soft the strap was compared to my RG 44. Here are some pics The Patek guy was trying hard to sell me this one..
Hi guys.Lately I have been struggling with the way I am handling my precious AP's. I have them all displayed on a winder and they look great. But, Is this the way to go?I have heard a lot of stories regarding the winder pro vs cons, but I really dont know what to make of all the info thats out there. The only thing that I can see positive from a winder, aside of having your watch ready, is the fact that you can break them in. Sometimes you will not be able to determine if something is wrong with your watch the first year if you just wear them occasionally. The other thing is, although having the motor running all the time, might shorten the watch life span, wouldn't it be the same for the crown? I have seen horror stories of loose crowns etc. since they have to be manipulated on a constant basis. What do you guys think? Can you guys give me a little piece of mind?
Just read on the does rolex read trf thread that rolex is beneath JLC. While I know brands like JLC and Zenith have made their own movements after the swatch group move, and I respect JLC; I would not rank them above Rolex. What is your take on Rolex vs JLC?
