Patek Philippe 3490/1J wrist watches news:
This has been my own personal grail piece from Rolex since I joined RIS/WIS hood. Thx to ScottD! The package arrived last night and the first thing I noticed..."Wow....gently loved and cared for!" I'm keeping the caseback stickers altogther until I have the Thomas Preik Caseback installed tomorrow. :DI sized it to fit on the clasp pushpin system and shot some sunlight pics today. Also thanks to my banker angrymofo. Can't wait to show him this Friday night at hockey. :DWhen the sunlight hits, I am just mesmorized!Hmmm, wonder how it would look with the Milgauss clasp on it?Thanks to the WTF Community! I now have my Grail Rolex!
Just bought this one on the 'Bay. Has an 11ESK movement (ETA 1080) running strong, clean case and wonderful patina on the dial. For now, I'll just post the seller's pics. More to come...$(KGrHqVHJCcE7zBG,ZHqBPEzosY6mQ~~60_12.JPG$(KGrHqZHJ!4E7)t)J3+bBPEzpJUKgQ~~60_12.JPG
Seeing all the feedback on the novelties from SIHH and also a lot of the comments in the past, may I recommend to AP (if they read this), the following:I think AP should launch a custom watch configurator system - clients can specify all the materials/combo they want from a standard list; they could charge a decent premium for this - say 25-30% and I am sure there would be good take up. Variables:1. Watch case material2. Bezel material3. Dial style, flat or tapisserie4. Numerals - sticks or numbers5. Dial colour6. Numerals/sticks colour.7. Crown and pusher materials.8. Strap material9. Buckle or deployment.Of course one could go further, but the above would give you almost unlimited combinations, and they would have to set up an AP Bespoke department or similar, charge a premium of course and throw in some bells and whistles along with it, along the lines of creating a ROO VIP club effect. You read it here first!
I travel pretty frequently for work (12-18 times a year) and use to travel every other week for a few years and have never run into a TSA person who said anything about a watch before. Last night traveling back from Seattle, the guy at the scanner said Nice watch. Can I ask what it is? I was taken by surprise by it but loved it. He was wearing a Quartz Seiko chronograph. I asked if he was into watches and he said he was but can't afford a nice one yet, but is saving in hopes of being able to buy one some day.I was wearing my Breitling Avenger Blackbird and must admit that out of my collection, I was surprised this is the one that got noticed in public. It's the least flashy of higher end watches, except maybe for the Omega SM300.
Made a quick call to my AD. 5 people in front of me for the BLNR. Conservative estimate of around spring next year.I was 10th 6 weeks ago so I was a little surprised.Trying to put it out of my mind but finding it really difficult!Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
