eterna watch company
i have admired eterna for a while now. i prefer manufacturers and under-the-radar brands. eterna fits that bill pretty well. they have an excellent history and nice vintage pieces are still fairly affordable. the exception to this rule is the IDF Konitki, which runs a couple of grand. still, despite my admiration of the company and it's products, i've picked up few examples over the past couple of years and none of their upper-tier watches. well, about a month ago, i decided to change that. the Centenaire was issued in 1956 to celebrate the company's 100th birthday. source of ad- Vintage Eterna Watchesthey continued the model with versions in 1961 and 1971. after seeing some very beautiful pieces on various forums i decided to get one. however, my laziness had caught up with me and the price on good examples over the last few years has risen. when i started in this hobby, i would have expected to pay no more than 100 bucks for the following watch. now-a-days with more collectors appre

Just noticed a price jump for the 5712/1A
So about a year ago I was looking at the Nautilus 5712/1A. It was beautiful watch and I noticed one could get it from a trusted dealer on here for 30K. I thought the price was justified for a beautiful time piece like that and then moved on.Today I decided to go this forms of classified section of this forum and noticed it is being sold by trusted seller for about 54k. I have not been following what is going on in the watch world for about a year now. I was wondering if anyone knew what caused the price jump and when did it happen?I must admit I thought someday I could get that watch, but I am not sure if I can personally justify spending 54k on that watch. I'd probably want to spend that type of money on a Vacheron Constantin or A.lange & sohne.

Significant price difference between 5167 and 5711
With the 20% price increase in March on the 5711, the price differential with the 5167 widens significantly. I wonder how this will effect demand on the 5167, presuming there is no price increase at Baselworld? Considering these pieces share the same 324 SC caliber, the difference in price post March makes the 5167 potentially better value than it has been historically relative to the 5711 (setting aside desirability/Gerald Genta designed/resale etc). As a previous owner of the 5167 who regrets selling as I really miss it, I am hoping to buy another soon (waiting for the call from my AD - hoping this will be before any price increase on the 5167). It will be interesting to see what happens after the effect of the price increase on the 5711 takes effect and whether there are any changes at Basel this year to the Aquanaut. If nothing changes, I would imagine the 5167 will become more desirable, although not quite at the level of the iconic 5711. It seems to me the 5167 will be extremely
