Perrelet A1085-1 wrist watches news:
My Submariner has gained 19 seconds since I bought it 13 days ago. I appreciate it'll need a few weeks to settle down, but assuming a gain of, say, 1? seconds per day, I figure it'll take about 6 weeks to gain a minute. I'm thinking I might set it ? a minute slow and then leave it 'til it gets ? a minute fast, then knock it back again. I check it against the pips every morning, so I'll know pretty much where I am timekeeping-wise on any day. How do you run yours?
Hi, I was hoping/wondering if someone may be able to identify a watch from a relative. It's Omega Automatic, circa 1953-1955, Gold (I believe Solid). Works fine, but no longer has the wristband, and needs some cleaning. What I've not seen in researching Omega varieties, is that while this watch has mostly notches for the hours, it does have a single numeral of the '12' hour...no 3, no 6, no 9...just 12. Can anyone help with identification? I can post a photo as well, when I get a chance.Thanks.
Hi guys. Curios what everyone thinks of this. Given the opportunity... which of the two would you pick and why?
Picked up a Black Bay in house black a short while ago, but didn¡¯t totally satisfy the itch. Been looking at lots of stuff online, and one day maybe a BLNR but none around and not willing to pay grey premium. Looked at lots of vintage but had a 1680 a couple years back and only kept it a year, so decided to not go back down that road. Other than that, wanted to try on DJ41 and Explorer.Local AD had the exact smooth bezel blue Oyster 41 I¡¯ve been lusting after, and it¡¯s super nice on the wrist but a touch formal for me for every day, so I was willing to walk away. Also tried on a 36 but too small. When I mentioned interest in the 39 Explorer, they said they had one in back on deposit hold but they¡¯d let me look. Yup, great look great fit. Pics online make it look bigger than reality, in case you are in doubt! Would I take one today if they had one downtown? Yes, but none. So they phoned the person with the hold, and got their OK to wait for the next shipment expected next month.
