Philip Stein 21FMOPCGLW wrist watches news:
Gentlemen I am looking to buy a decent diver or chrono watch for beach/everyday use.I want at least 200m WR and don't want to spend more than ?150 (unless it's something really special)I've looked at Seiko, Citizen etc and am undecided.I don't mind a rubber strap.Regarding Seiko? What are the latest views on "Kinetic" ? Are they reliable and now free of their previous capacitor problems etc?Are low budget automatics any good? Are they accurate?Am I better off with a basic quartz?Any suggestions or advice?
Whilst perusing the horological goods at my favorite thrift store, I came across a mid 80's Accutron Quartz. I asked to see it and opened up the back. To my surpise the movement filled the whole caseno plastic! What's the story behind these? Bulova just continued to use the Accutron name on quartz watches??? If they did, why, when they were coming out with quartz watches in both the Bulova and Caravelle lines? Are these worth picking up?
If possible can someone recommend or know a quality watch watchmaker / repair man in the South Florida area.I need to have some work to a couple of watches I have an need to find a reputable one. Thanks for your help
