Urwerk shares an exclusive first look video of their new UR-210 watch that we covered with an in-depth preview here. This is going to be a very cool watch to check out in a few months time.
I've had several members ask for help looking for a decent and reasonably priced Longines automatic over the last few months. If anyone is hunting for one, PM me for a link to a nice waffle dial with crosshairs.
I'm looking for a plug in electric table clock with a sweep seconds hand. They were quite popular in the 50's and 60's. I'd buy vintage but I don't want something that's going to have the hum of a 50-60 year old electric motor. Does anybody know if there is such a thing available new?I genuinely hate that every new clock I see has the same cheap, loud ticking, plastic quartz movement. I'd like something quiet for a change that's not digital.
Hi,I am trying to understand the world of watches. I visited a few shops and got some tidbits of information.I understand that most of the Swiss watches use a 'standard' calibre from ETA and a few use their own calibre. Are watches using their own calibre more expensive? A glance at the catalog seems to point this? What is contained in a calibre and what changes do watch brands do to the base calibre? Also - I read that ETA is actually Swatch and they plan to stop selling 'blank' calibres by 2008 - does this mean that everbody will try setup their own calibre or they will continue to use Swatch branded calibres? Please let me know if these are already discussed and I should be reading some thread. Thanks!Sash
Hi all,I'm ready to purchase my first Omega and will be going with one of the following:SpeedMaster Broad Arrow GMT (3581.30.00)SeaMaster NZL-32 Chrono (2513.30.00)Any suggestions on authorized dealers in the Boston area you've dealt with? I'm also toying with the idea of purchasing in New Hampshire to save on sales tax.Thanks.
