Maybe widening search for first watch... (Citizen and/or Seiko owners?)
so i STARTED OUT looking for a Seikoin my price range, trustable seller (even Amazon (themselves, not a 3rd party) sells SNKs and SNZs that aren't listed on Seiko's site, but i *suppose* that's ok), a design i want, and features i want is pretty challenging. i've widened the search to Citizen and maybe Pulsar (haven't seen many with features i'm looking for from Pulsar, tho). still trying to keep it in the under $125 range (i could fudge it a little. i'm looking at a Citizen BM8290-05E)THOSE OF YOU WITH CITIZEN watches how has your experience been with your watches? reliable? any of you have Citzens AND Seikos? how have the two compared reliability-wise and accuracy-wise (with quartzes, self winding, and the Eco-Drive)?edit: i've also noticed a complete lack of Seiko 5s in stores (as well as self-winding). does that mean most/all DO or DON'T have at least SOME shock protection? how about Citizens?

List of Manufacture Watches in Wikipedia
I went on Wikipedia and I checked that they show a list of watch manufacturers. The list is nice but seems they are missing some names. Not sure if Concord and Blancpain are considered "Manufacture" but I added them to the list.Someone who is more knowledgeable about watches should check out the list and add some more names to it.I like going there to read information on the different watches that I come across this forum.

Omega speedy reduced in the snow
Hi, Im new here... I have two fantastic omegas. The first a seamaster from 1948. Heirloom from my father. He bought it when stationed in switzerland just after the war.. He was 19 then. And the second a speedmaster reduced. I bought this one recently as a companion to my lonely seamaster!Here is a wrist shot of both. The speedmaster was taken today in the dutch snow!!!have a nice evening,pete
