Anyone handled this piece yet?
There is listed on "the bay" right now a watch that is purported to be a:RARE 70'S KING SEIKO KS HI-BEAT SILVER DIAL MANUAL WIND MAN'SThe description says: MOVEMENT : Manual wind Movement, sign SEIKO, 25 JEWELS No.4500A.The listing also includes a picture clearly showing a manual wind movement. The seller also specifically states:"I can guarantee all my watches authentic and original."There is only one problem. Here is a picture of the dial /face:Notice anything odd??? Like, right under the word "SEIKO?" LOL!Could this be a big mistake by the Seiko factory - a true rarity!Or is something amiss?
Greetings TRF,I have posted a few threads over the past months where I'd buy new bands for my watches. However, lately I've been thinking about doing things a bit differently...I found this gold plated bracelet on Ebay and thought I would give it a try. Given that I have a few gold watches I thought that one of them would be able to handle it and surprisingly it seems like my AP, despite its very thin case, can be worn on it without looking too odd (in my humble opinion, that is). I understand that it may sound a bit strange to put a gold watch from that company on such a cheap bracelet but I'm that type of man, I personally like the look of it and I think life is too short to avoid trying new things out every once in a while. I'll let you all comment and give your honest opinion on that new combo. Fear not, the leather band is still around and already ready to be put back on when needed. Thank you for watching, feel free to comment.
So I have been in no less than eight AD¡¯s in the past two weeks and I can tell you firsthand that with the exception of the Rolex boutique in Miami they all had just about nothing to sell. Total empty shelves. That and everyone of them said they had just about no hope of getting anything for Christmas to sell either. Rumor is Rolex hit all its sales goals and therefore they aren¡¯t very concerned about shipping more product this year. I personally have no idea why that¡¯s just what some of the smaller AD¡¯s are telling me. I can also tell you this. I know the owners of a couple of these small places and they tell me it¡¯s financially devastating not have an extremely strong Christmas season selling Rolex. They count on it every year. I can¡¯t speak for the bigger places I visited because the salesman had no idea when I asked how it was affecting their overall business. So if you guys are planning on getting a Rolex for Christmas you¡¯re either going to go with a Date Just from an AD or
The darndest thing happened. I¡¯ve been enjoying my DJ41 with a jubilee bracelet and the weather got cold. This is causing my wrist to shrink and now the bracelet is loose and annoying (especially in the morning). I took a link out and but by afternoon it¡¯s a little too snug and I worry about stretching. My AD said there¡¯s no half links for the jubilee.Any thoughts?
