Montblanc TimeWalker Dual Carbon Chronograph
Montblanc combines two of the hottest case materials – DLC and red gold – to create the TimeWalker Dual Carbon Chronograph. If you don’t know, DLC stands for diamond-like carbon, and it produces an extremely corrosion-resistant coating with a hardness of 3,000 Vickers. By way of comparison, steel has a hardness of 230 Vickers. And Montblanc does not stop there. Unlike other brands using DLC, Montblanc employs a unique two-step process. In step one, the 43mm stainless steel case is hardened. A thermal treatment applied to the case surface fuses it with additional carbon atoms to increase the hardness of the exterior to as much as 1,000 Vickers. In step two, the black DLC coating is applied to the already-hardened surface.Both front and back crystals are sapphire, and the front crystal is domed with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Hello!I am quite pleased to have found this forum.I'm a retired train mechanic since 2008, now living just outside of Santa Fe, NM.Being "old school", I have a fondness for older mechanical watches.My most cherished watch, belonged to my Great-Grandfather.He was a Rabbi in Utica, NY, and his congregation in 1935, presented him with an eight-sided Silver-cased Waltham 17j pocket watch.My late father refurbished this watch in the late 70's, and it keeps perfect time to this day!Other favorites that I own (and running perfectly) are:Late 1920's Illinois 17j pocket watchNew Haven dollar watch (art-deco styling)Semag, Orvin, Droz, Guda, and Eltra Swiss-made wrist watchesWhen I'm not breaking watches, I'm terrorizing the locals on a 1981 Yamaha XJ750 Seca motorcycle.I hope I can contribute, in a modest manner, to this forum.Thanks!!Steve

Various incoming. Watch box happy again
After a burglary at the end of last year, pleased to have got back to where I was.Also took the opportunity to make a change. I had a Breitling Navi World on Brown Croc strap that just wasn't getting wrist time. Decided to replace with the Exp 2 Polar.Next addition planned to be a manual wind, hesalite crystal speedy.Good to be back in the game.
