A basket case, or a find?
UPDATEDREFER TO POST #17Yes, the back needs to come off so we can see the movement, but I don't trust this to my own beginner's skills. Just sent it off to my watchmaker today. But I have a question that maybe someone can help me with:My son showed up today with this Stainless steel-cased chronograph, saying that he had rescued it from a storage area that was being sold off. It has two recessed dials, one a sub-second hand, the other a "minutes elapsed" dial. The watch also has a sweep second hand with a start-stop-continue function and a flyback function. The dial was evidently somewhat silvered, but now it's "patina"-ed (read, blotchy) with bits of junk floating around under the crystal, which I think is lacquer or varnish residue that's peeling off. The watch works, all four functions, although intermittently, so I have been careful about winding it other than to check to see if the watch worked at all.There is no obvious logo on the dial, but if you stare at it for a few minutes, y

I just picked this up, liked the look of it.Great quality watch, sapphire crystal, solid links, screw pins, and a swiss quartz movement, ceramic bezel.I do not care for Homage watches. Nothing wrong with them as long as they don't pretend to be the real thing, but not for me. When I bought this, I knew it had the ploprof hands, but did not consider it a homage watch. GP uses these hand combo and I think Oris might as well.I thought it looked different than the ploprof as it did not have the special extra wide protruding case of the ploprof 600 and no mesh bracelet.But now after getting it want to see what the Omega folks think, thus wanting your opinion.Do you think this watch is trying to look like an Omega? Or does it just have similar styling?Either way I'll enjoy it for sure. But interested in your thoughts.
