Found: A Rolex Submariner Lost At Sea, Recovered 14 Months Later...And Still Works
So we all know that the Rolex Submariner is a good diving watch. But what we didn't know is that the beloved Sub could sink to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, only to be recovered 14 months later, and still work (after a bit of winding).Yes, you read that correctly. The story is, a gentleman was fishing in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of British Columbia when his Submariner's bracelet snagged on his fishing rod. The watch promptly flew into the ocean and sank. The quick-thinking owner marked his coordinates and miraculously worked out a deal with a local dredging barge to search the area from time to time (for a fee of $85 per hour with a $1,000 cash reward). 1 OF 1 Miraculously, 14 months later, the watch was found in 100 meters of water and after a few turns of the crown – it worked! B.A.R. Honda racing seiko
Well some of you have been wanting to see some pics of my B.A.R. (British American Racing) Honda seiko. This watch was acquired from David Hobbs himself, as a "raise" during the 2006-2007 race season. It would mark the year as the last season of B.A.R. racing. Jenson Button (my favorite F1 driver), scored his first win on this team, before it was then taken over by Honda Inc. This watch was a "second" from a pit crew member. I finally recieved it from my parents house. I had no idea what seiko and or "nice" watches were untill I got on this forum. The watch has never been sized and or opened, untill today. I never pulled the plastic off at all. It was given to me, and simply packed up and forgotten about.

Gold for Gold? Would you?
I am contemplating moving my 42m new style Gold ROO (26470or) for a Gold RO (15400or black face/black alligator strap) and using the left over $$ to pick up a pre-owned (or new) Diver or another more casual piece (possibly Rolex).Does this make sense ? I do like the 26470or (yes I like the dial ) but am thinking the combo of the 15400or and diver will give me a little more diversity in providing one dressier and one more casual piece. I do have a FC44 which would stay.As always.....thoughts are very welcome and opinions are appreciated ! TIA
