Last night in New York City, new TAG Heuer ambassador Tom Brady and CEO Jean-Claude Biver launched the Carrera - Heuer 01. The Carrera - Heuer 01 is a huge achievement for TAG Heuer – an automatic chronograph with a manufacture movement at a very attractive price. I know what you're thinking – not another celebrity brand ambassador, but it turns out Tom Brady is a real watch guy. Is a ' manufacture ' movement that important to you?
I'm not given to technical matters in watches, preferring instead to be charmed by the aesthetics of a given timepiece. However, I am a great fan of the Co-Axial with its' steady rate of output at all levels of power reserve and extended service interval. Other manufacturers tried it but gave up so kudos to Omega for steadfastly standing by their courageous move in going with George Daniel's work of many years. Now of course, Bienne is taking it one step further in producing it all in-house as opposed to relying on the development of an ' in-family ' movement. I say ' in-family ' since the cal 2500 was born of the much-loved cal 1120 which in turn was an Omega re-working of the already exceptional ETA 2892-A2, ETA being an integral part of the Swiss Family Swatch.So pals, is having an in-house movement a really important factor in your watch-buying criteria? Value of Breitling Aerospace 80360?
My first foray into fine watches occurred twenty years ago when I purchased a new Breitling AEROSPACE 80360; titanium case (matching gray dial) with the gold (18k ?) indices. Keep in mind that when this watch was produced by Breitling, they labeled it as a NAVITIMER for some reason, but it remains an AEROSPACE.I was wondering if someone can provide current value of this particular watch in very good, but worn condition. Currently, it is on a brand new Hirsch black leather (with white stitching) strap and has the Breitling buckle. I also have a Breitling deployant on another strap.Not really looking for an appraisal so to speak, but more of the highs and lows for this particular watch. I don't currently have any photos of it, but can provide them if someone wants to take on the internet appraisal process (LOL).I am contemplating on rotating it out for a new "German" I have my eye on.Thanks to all,Mike

Anybody Know Something about WWI Russian Trench Watches ? ? ?
I bought something today that I would NOT normally buy!A RUSSIAN TRENCH WATCH ! ! !For the most part I stick American watches but this Russian starting running when I wound it and the dial does NOT have any hairlines, chips or cracks ! ! !It's been keeping very good time for several hours now.It's rather large, it measures 40mm without the crown and 48mm lug to lug, sterling silver case.The info stamp on the case back reads: 448, AT-17, Sterling, Base M, Czarist c.1914ANYBODY READ RUSSIAN ? ? ?Can anybody translate what is on the inside of the case back for me ? ? ?Who made the movement ? ? ?ANY info would be GREAT ! ! !
