Roger Dubuis G43 1447 0 37.56 wrist watches news:
I have t decide if I want to keep this watch (buy it or not)It is a 15 J Swiss movement trench style watch with a black dial in all sterling silver (unpolished with nice aged patina) Radium has been removed, crystal is in nice condition-nice hands and black dialOn the dial is Wilson and Gill 139 41 Regent St (London)The watch is nice looking visually and is running and keeping good time over the last 24 hoursI have been looking for a trench watch and this looks like one to me-is it a trench watch?Opinions? Thoughts? Information? Buy or not?Any ideas on the value of this watch or a fair price I should pay will be greatly appreciatedAlso where can I find long straps for these 6mm wide lugs on trench watches. I need a long strap to fit me wrist002_zps146444ea.jpgThanks
Long term inmates will recall my intention to acquire a modern Hamilton a year or two ago (see <<HERE>>). The selection criteria were that the watch must be handsome, have some complications but be simple of dial (I don't like clutter and my aging eyes can't see small dates or tachymiler type complications), robust, waterproof and preferably with a metal bracelet because leather is a waste of time in the African bush. At the time I had rejected a rubber strap because of the lack of breathability and NATO straps because - well - I just don't like them. With lots of input from forum colleagues the decision was to go for the Khaki Conservation GMT:However, nearly two years on I haven't splashed out for this watch yet. Money was an issue for a long time or I repeatedly found an excuse to buy another vintage or several for the same bucks. I think that there was something else contributing to my reluctance; perhaps a thought that it was just another st/steel watch in my coll
Alright guys....so what's your favorite watch movement? It's hard for me to pin down just one....It may not be the prettiest movement out there, but the Rolex 3135 is tough to beat for a three-hand work horse movement:I hold the ETA 2892 based Omega 1120 movement in nearly as high regard, and have to admit it's even easier on the eyes:What say you?
So, I am giving some thought into selling my 116613LB and Explorer(39mm) it help fund my first PP, Aquanaut. Before I do this I need to know what to expect from the watch. I am not sure, but I think it is safe to assume that the Aquanaut will not be as durable as the two Rolexs mentioned. With that being said, the use of the watch will not be for heavy use. i will leave that to my Hulk Submariner, which I plan to keep. The intent of use will be for travel, possibly swimming, dinner, Church and other medium task. No golf or tennis or snorkeling, eventhough I believe it ca handle diving 60'. Please tell me if the watch is too delicate like its siblings and that I am better off keeping what I have, or will it do what I want it to do without breaking a sweat. Also, what can I expect form the company itself when it comes to warranty, service and cost of service.
My friend posted it on his blog. But I suspect this watch is a fake.
