- I returned this watch.I was looking for something sleek and stylish, and this is not at all what I wanted. You couldn't tell from the photos, but, the watch is think and clunky, it doesn't lie comfortably on the wrist.

Ochs Und Junior just might be the coolest watch company in the world. You probably haven't heard of them, unless you're a regular reader of HODINKEE or some other like-minded publication. You see, they don't have any brand ambassadors or marketing budget at all. They don't have any retailers, anywhere. All Ochs Und Junior watches are sold directly through the Oxloft, a converted workspace, gallery, and boutique in downtown Lucerne. Their watches aren't even marked with the brand's name. What Ochs Und Junior does have though is one of the cleanest design structures of any line of watches, a brilliant watchmaker as a co-founder, and one of the most compelling brands around. 1 OF 10 Ochs Und Junior was founded in 2006 as an outlet for the horological concepts of Ludwig Oechslin. Oechslin is a Doctor of Theoretical Physics and qualified mathematician, astronomer, archaeologist, and master watchmaker. He was behind some of Ulysse Nardin's most
Hi all, just a quick question for you Speedmaster owners...I became the owner of my first Speedmaster last Friday and have been quite smitten with my purchase. Of course we all know that the Speedmaster's chronograph second hand isn't the smoothest sweeping to begin with at a beat rate of 21,xxx. However, I was watching mine tick last night and there were a few spots where the second hand almost seemed to stop for a second, jump (like it was taking up slack) and then keep ticking. This watch has seen no knocks, bumps, drops of any kind so I know I haven't "damaged" it by force. I also have been careful when starting/stopping/resetting the chronograph. This is the sapphire sandwich with 1861 caliber.Below is a video I took and uploaded to Flickr today. Pay attention when the second hand is near the 275 mark on the Tach. This is the first and most exaggerated example of what is happening at different spots as the hand sweeps around the dial. I don't think this is supposed to happen even
I recently saw the white gold 5712G on black strap at my local AD...WOW...really looks good. Much better than I had expected. Now I'm really torn between the 2 versions of the 5712.Would be interested in hearing thoughts from the group as to which model they would choose. And for arguments sake, let's say the price difference is not the $10k difference per retail, but more so around $5k.Still think I'm leaning towards the stainless version, but what do you say?
I came across this recently in search of a Rolex. It is a like New 2004 18k Gold & Stainless Steel Submariner Serti with date.Price is $9,150.00 with everything the watch came with on original purchase.First off, is this a fair price? Secondly, what to you experienced Rolex owners thing of this model (ref 16613)?Thanks,Mike
