Seiko SNKK13 wrist watches news:
It was an unseasonably warm Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn, and I was walking my dog when my phone buzzed with a text message from a friend, containing only a link to something on Thingiverse (a 3D printing file-sharing site). I opened the link and my jaw dropped; I was looking at a 3D printed tourbillon watch running by itself, built by Christoph Laimer, a Swiss engineer. This is an actual watch, with a tourbillon, that is almost entirely 3D printed. Think about it: the tourbillon – a 200+ year old invention designed by one of the greatest watchmakers to ever live, which for most of its history has been practically synonymous with hand-craftsmanship and high end watchmaking, has been produced in a working watch with a 3D printer. You can wind it, set the time, and carry it with you. Sure, it's a bit large (a pocket watch, not a wristwatch, and they'd need to be good sized pockets to boot) not very accurate, and only runs for about 30 minutes
One more nice one with Cal. 86 movement???...Super condition. Might have the dial refinsihed on this one. Note the many service marks on the inside back of the case. Who ever had this one was crazy for service (LOL) It is possible this movement is the rare Cal 82 or 82N??? 27mm in diameter. The Case size is 28.83mm in diameter as close as I can measure.
I just picked up a vintage Benrus. Don't know anything about this watch but it looks nice and it will be my first project watch. It was 25 bucks so I can afford the lesson with this one. I really wanted to buy another Hammy but I'm not willing to take a lesson for any more than the 25.00.Anyone know anything about this model? I found it interesting that the case back shows "Benrus" different than all the other ones I've seen.According to the swamp posting the watch runs and keeps good time. Thanks for any info. I'll send pictures of movement and wrist shots when it gets here.
Today my watches got a little swap. The rubber strap that was in my Royale got the trash (junk) and I put the bracelet from my invicta on it. And my invicta got my edifice chrono bracelet because it's way nicer. But my poor Edifice has a cheap flimsy folded steel bracelet because it's waiting for a rubber strap. But here are the Royale and the ocean ghost
this might be a classic questions , but honestly speaking, a lot of people nowadays still thinks that 44 mm ( what about above 44mm? ) is way too big for average person, while others might say that that size is for casual , leisure type of watches,,,, a big No for a serious, dress watch what do you think ? your personal opinion would be highly appreciated many thanks in advance..rgdsPete J
