Seiko SSA207 wrist watches news:
You shouldn’t name a watch after a war machine without being pretty sure it lives up to it. Luckily, that’s not an issue with the Ancon M26 Tank, which is amongst the largest and beefiest watches we’ve had the pleasure of testing out. As with the Sea Shadow we looked at previously, the Tank is a hodge-podge of referential designs in a massive case that is meant to aesthetically emote mid century military machines. Whether a battleship or a tank, these watches are low on subtly and high on style, mixing raw materials and dark colors to make something unapologetically masculine and fun to wear. For a big ass bronze watch with a domed sapphire crystal and a Miyota 9015 movement, the Ancon M26 Tank is also decently priced at $839.Case: CuSn8 BronzeMovement: Miyota 9015Dial: GreenLume: YesCrystal: Domed Sapphire CrystalStrap: Italian Leather + CanvasWater Res.: 200MDimensions: 45 x 56mmThickness: 13 – 17 mmLug Width: 26mmCrown: Screw down 8 x 5mmWarranty: YesWeight:
DSC_0003..JPGCan anyone help me identify this Rolex? It belongs to my mother, who doesn't pay much attention to watches. All she can tell me is she got it in Switzerland in the 1960s. It's obviously an Oyster Perpetual lady's "Date" model with tritium markers ("T SWISS T"). - Is the movement a COSC certified chronometer? It does not say "Officially Certified" but maybe this is before Rolex started printing that on the face?- As an Oyster Perpetual, it should be self-winding right?- It has not been serviced ever (!!!). If I take it to an AD will Rolex service it without papers (which my mother doesn't have any more)? If not, how do I take it to 3rd party service? - The sapphire (or is it acrylic?) is scuffed; can it just be polished or does it have to be replaced?- Any idea how much service will cost?- Any idea how much the watch would be worth today?Thank you everyone!
Hey guys ! ! !There has been speculation for many years when it comes to the BEHEMOTH size 12s American Trench Watches...........................where any of them actually made ? ? ?We can now put all speculation to rest................................they do in FACT exist ! ! ! ! But, it's not an Elgin, Waltham or Illinois that has been located, it's a CROWN.Sold under the name "Crown Watch Company" but was actually made by the New York Standard Watch Company in New Jersey. The New York Standard Watch Company was owned by the Keystone Watch Case Company who also owned the Philadelphia Watch Case Company and the case maker Bates & Bacon (B&B).Yes, this will get a bit confusing, I had to re-read all of my research several times to get a grip on all of this.During the Great War era Keystone was was constantly being sued by the United States government and other watch case manufacturers.A lot of these suits had to do with the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, illegal monopolies and such.Keys
Hi Guys,I hav shortlisted 2 Offshores available to me for immediate delivery. One is the ROO Novelty in Stainless steel and the other is the ROO Novelty in Ceramic. The Steel one looks great on the wrist and i love how it pops with the colour contrasts of silver/white, black and steel. Very noticeable. The Ceramic is very under the radar although I do believe it will shine under the right light conditions. Also the quality of the finishing on the ceramic has to be seen to be appreciated.Which would you guys choose and why? Bear in mind there is a huge price differential between the two. Appreciate your comments, tks :-)
Question as per the title. I'd like to preserve the original bracelet, and have the added security of the flip lock on the 78790.Can it be fitted, and if so, which end links?
