Hi All! Many of you may remember the recent episode of our favorite game: "Time for another game of.. Reeeeal or faaaake!". Well, to summarize for those that missed (click the link for the full experience), without the addition of some back story, the pictures were a tough read. There are easy fakes to spot, but sometimes real ones have some strange aspects in different lighting or photography. In the end, I think most folks thought it probably was legit. What I finally decided to do was to adhere to the cardinal rule and "Buy the seller NOT the watch". This particular Coke GMT was bought by a surgeon in Dayton (I independently verified his name from the e-mail and the warranty card to a web search of surgeons in Dayton). BUT I wasn't REALLY buying from him anyway. He was the original owner but had returned the watch to the AD for sale on consignment. I just purchased a Hamilton Khaki Field watch (quartz - battery powered). The advertisement said the watch bezel and case material is titanium but on the back of the case it says stainless steel. Are there a lot of Seiko SKX007K2 owners on the forum? How does it compare to a Monster? The SKX007K2 has a really sharp james bond-ish look.
This great watch needed wrist time. From the Seiko SUS (Strong and Simple) series started in 1992 and ending 2000, this is the 200M diver style perpetual but in keeping with the SUS philosophy of strong and simple/clean design. There were several calibers used in this series from the autos 4S14 and 4S12GMT to mostly quartz models. Sized for the Japanese wrist most watches were small midsized to to around 38mm wide. The most characteristic features of the SUSs were the squared off hands and the date at the 4 position. Some models used the arrow style hour hand and others the mercedes style....
