This time its the boutique in Beverly Hills CA.PAM406 (Beverly Hills) 20 units $17,900 (PAM00406) 20 units have been made, is a Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT 44 mm, with the case and the bridge protecting the crown in brushed steel and the bezel in polished steel. All the elements on the black sandwich dial are coated with ecru Super-LumiNova?: the figures, the linear indication of the 10-day power reserve, the small seconds dial which also carries the am/pm indication, the calendar and the inscription Luminor Panerai GMT. The hour and minute hands also have the same coating, as does the arrow pointer of the hand which indicates the time in the second time zone. The strap is of vintage leather and the movement is the automatic calibre P.2003, created entirely within the Officine Panerai manufacture at Neuchatel. and the boutique in NY got another edition..PAM407 (NEW YORK) 20 units $12,500 (PAM00407) 20 units have been made, is a Radiomir 8 Days 45 mm, with the elegant cushion case in polis

A day in the watch fleshpots of NYC
(visual types, scroll down for pix)So, incapacitated by recent shoulder surgery (from working, not watch browsing), I decided to set out on one of my grueling yet always enjoyable vintage watch prospecting expeditions in my hometown of NYC. This involves putting a wad of cash in my breast pocket, (the splint I have to wear turns out to be perfect for preventing pickpocketing and I think I'll wear it out for this kind of thing in the future) and setting out for midtown. I usually warm up with a few nearby horological highlights, such as Aaron Faber, Central Watch, a few others - maybe including new watch places Cellini and Wempe - just to be treated like a human being and steel myself for the ordeal ahead. Then follows a combing of 47th street between 5th and 6th, otherwise known as the Diamond District. 47th street has a number of buildings in which individual merchants rent a booth on a floor among many, and visiting these thoroughly is not for the faint hearted. Anybody attending the "Inside Basel-Geneva" event in Chicago this Wed (9/29/10)?
Watchtime magazine is sponsoring the dinner event with about ten companies bringing their new introductions from the shows this year. Pretty good value with dinner at the private Midwest club atop the Aon tower. Plus plenty of swag from the watch companies. Two years ago I went home with two grocery bags of gifts. Jeff Kingston has a powerpoint presentation of the highlights of the two watch shows and the latest trends. Charles Tearle from antiques road show will also be presenting. I will be traveling to Chicago for the event. Anybody else?Cheers !

Apologies if you guys are already aware of this, but we came across another scam today. There are probably too many to report...but we thought we'd pass this one along. As with anything, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.S-watches seems to be taking customers for a ride - not surprising since they only accept wire transfers, checks, cash, gold bars, etc. (Nice looking watches though!!)For the full story and screen shots, click here.

About to buy my first AP royal oak but needed advice from you guys...
I found a AP 25594ST 36MM moonphase watch locally and I am very close to pulling the trigger on it. The owner said they bought it about 5 years ago but never had it serviced and hardly wore it. IT looks mint in the pictures.It has a white face.. They are at $7000 and are willing to meet me at a AP so I can have it authenticated before handing over the money. Is $7K a fair price for this watch, I see others on Ebay and chrono24 for 8-10K and they look alot older. This watch has the AP clasp with the AP letters so the clasp is AP not the rectangle clasp that alot of them have. How much would it cost to have this movement maintained at AP service center? I tried on a 39MM AP and it was a little too big so I think this 39MM would fit perfect..What do you guys think about the price and the movement in this watch..For 7K would I be able to recoup me money if i did not like it and wanted to flip it?Thank you!!
