Seiko SKA615 wrist watches news:
I have had this watch for nearly three months now. It wasn't a planned purchase - I didn't even it on my radar as a possibility! I was browsing watches at a local jeweler that sells Longines and Tag. Earlier in the year I had a Tag Aquaracer on my wishlist, but it has slid off of late. So I thought I would go and have another look at them and at some of the other Tags. I tried on a Carrera and a Monaco and quite liked them both. But then I walked over to the Longines display.Normally in my town the Longines displays aren't very exciting. They mostly have lots of Dolce Vita and Evidenza style watches - nothing wrong with that, I have a Dolce Vita and am very happy with it. But nowhere nearby stocks any of the Master Collection, for example. So I wasn't expecting much. But sitting in the case was a Grande Vitesse, and it jumped out at me! I had been looking at the Tag Carreras and it was similar - black face, chrono, SS bracelet. But the red highlighting on the chrono seconds hand, aroun
So the other day, I decided to grab a Nato Strap for my old diver. It also reignited the little bug I have for vintage dive/scuba watches. I started scouring the world again for cool vintage divers and...So I saw one on Ebay that was very similar to my Basis watch, but the price seems like either it is outlandish, or mine is worth more than I thought it was. I thought it'd be need to have the sister watch to the one I have though.Does anyone know much about the watch I have pictured below? Or the one in the auction?Note that Karachi is at the top since Bond says it's beautiful this time of year.Vintage Basis Wrist Watch - eBay (item 110527821715 end time Jun-01-10 19:31:40 PDT)
Long story short, I received this watch from a friend along with a bunch of other items that fell under the terms of 'garbage' 😳I believe it to be authentic based on the socioeconomic status of my friend, but would still like to get the advice of people that are completely immersed in this world of collecting. I personally collect things like video games, arcades, bmx bikes and skateboards.. so a $40k watch is just a little outside of my wheel house 😂!I am planning on taking the watch to a local govbergs jeweler to have it serviced, new band, battery, whatever it needs.. because I have no use for this thing and would like to maximize my profits on it. I will take more pictures of it when I get home, but wanted to get this out there and see what y'all could tell me while I'm bored at work lol! I'm also kinda afraid to even take the back off this thing because I don't want to hurt anything... but I also want to know the internal numbers.. thoughts?
Gentlemen:Although new to this forum I am not new to watch collecting.I have recently picked up a PO from 2007. I noticed that it does not have the little round logo on the case back, next to Ocean. Did some search on the Internet and noticed a few others from 2007 that are similar in this respect. Can you offer any insight as to why some have it and others do not?T.I.A.
2012 definately seems the year Omega will be implementing their No discount policy by taking away Omega watches from established AD's in favour of the Omega run Boutiques, which, as we know give no discounts. Within 100yds of a recently refurbished MINI Omega Boutique (section dedicated to Omega only watches but in the same premises that other brands are being sold) 2 massive AD's Goldsmiths and Frazer Hart have lost their Omega AD status in weeks of each other, leaving only the mini boutique to sell Omega watches locally. Needless to say the AD's are selling their stocks at really good prices to clear windows/stocks within a month or so, (I will be purchasing 2) which is all notice Omega gave them.......What away to treat loyal dealers who sold your goods for 16 years. Omega you should be a shamed.
