NATO Straps Comfort - yes or no
I must be missing something? Maybe it has to be an ideal combination of casebody size, weight, height, strap length, material?I've been trying for several years now to wear a NATO strap throughout a workday on several of my watches. Seiko Monster, Ball Night Train, and today wearing on my friend's Sea Dweller 16600. Each and every time, the canvass material gives off a scratchy feeling. The buckle has to be pulled tight to bear the weight, which cuts my circulation and makes the material even more uncomfortable against my skin. If I wear it a notch loose, then I can¡¯t even swing my arm without it rotating and banging on that wrist bone that pops out.Typing is a strenuous activity and I can feel my veins flare up..I generally have to place it on the desktop several times a day to allow my pulse to calm down. Picked up a Navitimer!
Well, after a few months of deliberation - I completely did the unexpected! A little back story here... For a while now, I've been looking at the Rolex Explorer II (42mm) and finally decided it was time to pick it up.I walked into my local AD, and had the Explorer II on my wrist ready to go. Something seemed off to me, it just wasn't sitting right on my wrist. So I waltzed over to the Breitling section, and tried on the Navitimer - and it just felt perfect to me. 24 Hours in, absolutely loving my purchase. This isn't to say I won't pick up a Rolex down the road - but there was something about this watch that I just had to have! What do you guys think?
