A.Lange Sohne 310.032 wrist watches news:
Maybe I cannot actually say that Oprah herself endorses ugly watches; in all likelihood, Oprah has probably never even seen one of these watches. Regardless, her name and image is plastered all over the materials saying that her enterprise endorses these watches. So thus, it is enough for me to say that she herself does in fact endorse these fiendish creations with all her heat. Don't put your name (or allow it to be put) next to something you won't stand by.O, The Oprah Magazine presented its recommendation last month of Tocs watches as part of a story on "the best gifts under $50." It is a line of not so attractive (in my opinion) women's watches that aren't even worth their budget pricing. You also have to check out the Tocs company logo which is laughable. About four minutes on Microsoft Word playing around with the Comic Sans font could have produced something nicer looking. The watches are perfect for children. Not really for adults. They are much more than likely Chinese made (wh
It's pretty hard to dispute ¨C or underestimate ¨C the importance of Omega SA when discussing the Swiss watch industry. They were an early and more than worthy rival to Rolex in the luxury watch arena ¨C and in fact, lured James Bond away from the crown. They made numerous important contributions to the watch industry, both from a customer perspective and a business perspective. They've been an official timer of the Olympic games upwards of two dozen times. And of course, there is the glorious Speedmaster Professional. So how did the brand start, and where did it come from?Early HistoryLouis Brant was 23 when he founded the Comptoir d¡ä¨¦tablissage Louis Brandt in 1848. Brant located his workshop in La Chaux de Fonds and assembled pocket watches there, to be distributed throughout Europe.Sons Louis-Paul and C¨¦sar joined the company in July 1877, and the name was modified to Louis Brandt & Fils. The elder Brant died in 1879, and his sons, Louis-Paul and C¨¦sar Brandt took over the company.

I was wondering what is the general view about restoring watches. I mean, if you have a old valuable watch do you think it is better to leave it alone (see the "Patina" thread) or do you try to restore to a condition closed to the original piece.I am doing these considerations because I always felt that I would not touch an old watch, if it is really valuable I might even doubt whether to do functional repairs or not, but then I looked at this Youtube video of the watchmaker Roger W. Smith presenting one of his pieces and he clearly states that many of his construction decisions are taken in order to make his pieces highly restoreable (does such a word exist?). At 2:05 minutes he clearly says that in many years time it will be possible to take one of his watches and to bring it to the original conditions, at which point I no longer know what to think. Maybe, I was always wrong and to follow a watchmaker's wish one should always keep the watch in the best possible condition because actu
