Longines L2.128.5.77.7 wrist watches news:
I have a SS Sub 1998 model. Mint condition: last year had it cleaned, new main spring installed, and case/bracelet polished to remove any small scratches and scuffs. I war this watch in the ocean (its a diving watch for pete's sake). I never turn the dial, because I have no reason to. A friend was looking at my watch yesterday and noticed it was "hard to turn". I checked it out, and WOW it requres lots of work, and pressure to rotate it. Does anyone have a diagram of how the dial attaches, or how it looks under the dial? I need to figure out how to fix it, or it it needs to go for service. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Logan
I have been looking recently at adding a Vostok or possibly other Russian mechanical to my collection. There are several I really like and I've read good things about their reliability and durability (including on this site). As I peruse the choices on Ebay and elsewhere, most have only Russian markings and writing on them with the exception of those identified as "Vostok Partner" brand. Conversely, all markings and writing are in English, though in the specs they have the same movement as many of the other Russian models; (the automatic 31-jewel 2416B movement). My goal is to attain an authentic Russian watch, and I'm concerned that the Vostok Partner (though a very good looking watch) is somehow less authentic with a case and dial (in English) that was possibly put together in China, US or elsewhere with a Russian movement. Please advise.
Is there a rose gold (on bracelet) RO in the 39mm size?I've found 41mm RO and ROC chrono models in rose gold. I think I've found a yellow gold 39mm RO. I'm assuming if it exists, it would be a discontinued model at this point. Any help? Thanks!
Hey guys. Got this one today. The 267-cal is well known and this one is in beautiful condition. I believe it was made in late 1950s. It has a classic 35mm solid gold case, signed all over, but what really impressed me was the original dial with raised indexes and logo. I think this one is a real classic and a perfect watch to wear with a formal attire, so all I have to do now is buy a suit as I don't have any .Hope you like it.
Hey all,Wore my FOIS for the first time in a while today and as I was setting the time, I noticed that there was a little bit of play in the crown. Basically, that I could turn the crown a little bit before it would engage and move the hands. Do any of your FOIS' experience the same thing or is this something I should have looked at by my watchmaker? Thanks!
