Autodromo Stradale Review
A new Autodromo is always an exciting thing. Their last few models have each impressed us greatly with ?their style, quality and finishing. Each subsequent model a little more finely tuned than the last; each also seeming to respond a bit more to the wants of the watch enthusiast crowd. With their newest watch, the Stradale, Autodromo has utilized for the first time the growing go-to automatic, the Miyota 9015. An addition I know everyone will be very happy to see.As with their previous models, the Stradales draw inspiration from Italian automotive history (save the Prototipo, which draws from racing chronographs). This time, looking to the Italian Berlinettas (a sport 2-seater coup¨¦) of the 50's and 60's. Like those cars, the Stradale is smallish, fun and nimble, featuring a nice mix of sport and class. My Rolex 14060M COSC non-date.
This is the Sub No-Date which Rolex sent for COSC testing. I purchased it several years ago, used. It has the serial number engraved on the inside of the raised bezel. The rest of the engraving is simply Rolex. What else. The accuracy is awesome. The difference between the COSC model from the non-COSC is the fine finishing done to the edges of parts and greater time in setting accuracy. Of course without the date there is no additional drag on the movement. I took it out of my display case about a week ago. It is running slow, about -1/2 of a second. I can't judge it more then that. I now have my eye on the Explorer. Not the Explorer II. The watch which does one thing. It tells the time.

A newcomer with a question regarding the dreaded"dollar" watch!
Hi Folks,I'm new to this forum, having lurked about on and off for the past year.I have assembled a small collection of "dollar" watches over the last twelve months or so, and have also purchased a lovely little Illinois movement that I hope to repair some day (more about that later).Now, I guess that most folks on this forum would say that "dollar" watches are not worth repairing, but I'm hoping someone can give me a few hints and tips to help me solve this problem...Several months ago I bought a 1940 Ingraham Dixie for about $20.00. It was complete and running, although the winding maechanism was a little sticky. I partially disassembled it, cleaned it, oiled it, and put the mechanism back together. Away it went like a little champion. Then the unthinkable happened - I dropped it on the floor! Misalignment question.
I bought a Speedy automatic 3510.50 in Nov 06, earlier this year it went to +15s a day so got it regulated by the Omega service centre here, took a royal 6 weeks. I've given this watch to my son as he needs to time his exams using the chrono function. (yeah it's just an excuse but what the heck...)Anyway, found out one of the chrono subdials is misaligned (the hour one at 6 o'clock). Unfortunately it's just out of warranty now.What can be done with it? Is it expensive to fix?N.B. When I took this photo end of Oct it was like 1-2s off, now it's like 4s off.

I had a hankering for some Wicked Wings yesterday, its been a couple of months since I've visited KFC and so given that it is a celebratory season for many I thought I would indulge.Thanks to DAVIDSW for giving me a great deal on this RG/SS DateJust 41 earlier this year. Its a great watch that I have not worn enough.The fluted RG bezel really compliments the metallic brown dial. This watch with the Jubilee bracelet is so comfortable, and once the bracelet is adjusted properly the fact that it doesn't have an easy link is not really an issue.The sharp edges of the fluted bezel glisten with the slightest movement of the wrist almost bringing the watch to life if you will!!
