Review: Helson Sharkmaster 1000
As with the Helson Skindiver and the Steinhart Ocean Vintage Military, it is important to know the facts about the watch the Sharkmaster 1000 is based on, in order to have a full appreciation and understanding of why Helson even bothered to make this watch. The story of the Omega Seamaster 1000 actually begins with the Omega Seamaster 600, colloquially referred to as the "PloProf" (Helson also makes an homage to this watch, not surprisingly called the Sharkmaster 600). A lot of threads here lately on new Jumbos. Add me to the list. After selling my 15400 last year because it just didn't feel right, I made the mistake of trying a 15202 at a boutique. Game over. Meet my newest keeper. Had to let some go but so worth it. The bracelet screws are a bear to budge. Instead of butchering the screws, I'll try the NYC boutique. One word to describe this piece...PERFECT. It's a stunner.

SS Pepsi Likely To Cause Plunge in WG BLRO Sales
I have been looking to buy a pre-owned BLRO in WG, but I am now just going to buy the SS Pepsi. The SS models hold their value much better, they are easier to sell if you change your mind, they are more durable and now there is little difference in the look, plus the SS Pepsi has the new movement and a much longer lasting power reserve which makes it technically a superior watch to the WG BLRO.The White Gold BLRO was not a big seller before this SS Pepsi was introduced, so I think sales of the WG BLRO are likely to go down even more now which might eventually lead to the model being discontinued or maybe Rolex will upgrade it in some way like the movement. Thoughts?A used WG BLRO is about $23 to $24k today, which is enough to buy a SS Pepsi and a SS Daytona and still have about $2 to $3k left for a fun weekend....Based on that I can't justify a WG BLRO anymore. It needs to drop further in price so that it makes more sense.

Perhaps I overlooked it but within the descriptions of the new models presented today I see no specific mention of -2/+2????
