Mechanical watch durability.
Here's the latest on my SMP 2531.80 which has been running fast. The watchmaker at my AD said that there's some spring or something that coiled over or whatever and that was what was causing my watch to run erratic. He overhauled the watch and straightend out whatever the problem was and he also said the rate adjust levers tension was fine, nothing there to fix and that the watch is now keeping to +2 sec per day in all positions. He's keeping it a few more days and wearing it as well and then he's going to double check the accuracy on the winder and set it for 0 seconds +/-. He's done this before and it stayed right on the money for a long time. I explained to him what I do at work and he suspects what I'm doing is too violent and causes the problems I've had with the watch. I'm skeptical but there has been a few times where I've gone to set the watch down on a counter or a table at home and missed it completely and my SMP landed face down on tiled concrete. OUCH! I just keep going back to the OEM Strap...
I have tried a bunch of straps at &100++ per strap and I find these thick vintage looking straps with large buckles to be very uncomfortable and I keep retuning to the OEM strap I love the look of the dark vintage strap just not the feel on my wrist Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
