However, the brand has a long history as a creator of fine timepieces coupled with a unique style which makes it hard to ignore...The original Cartier Santos was reportedly designed and created by Louis Cartier himself in 1904 for his friend and pioneer, Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. The Santos has been a major piece in the Cartier collection for a long time and in 2004 Cartier released their Santos 100 line which included larger Santos models.The Santos line has many variations, however, they are all styled like the original. This includes a square case that is slightly curved on both sides which makes it fit effortlessly on the wrist. Fake spotting
Hi guys,Twice now I have posted pics of watches I needed help with and twice they have turned out to be fakes. One of them was mine I received as a payment. I'm to blame for that one as I was ignorant on what the genuine article looks like. The second belongs to a co-worker who received it as a gift from a "wealthy friend of the family". I knew little about the brand his fake claimed to be. It turned out his fake was so blatent that it was a model that didn't even exist as a genuine article. Go figure. My WIS training goes on. Unfortunately I might unintentionally post a fake here and there in my quest for further knowledge as there don't seem to be fakes of the watches I can currently afford.I just wanted to clear the air as I felt a lot of hostility over the last one I posted.

Yes, my Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial arrived this afternoon and I could not be more pleased. (Pictures later so for now, you will have to take my word that I have it on my wrist.)As some of you know, my first reservation about this model was the thickness of the case and how it would wear on my round wrist. I had to remove 3 and a half links but the fit is perfect - very comfortable. But I can tell that the ratcheting clasp will be a blessing on humid days. The 41mm case is the perfect size for a vintage look.Now what about the PCLs? I know that fingerprints and scratches will probably drive me crazy but Omega did a good job recreating the look of the original 300 bracelet. The watch is supposed to look like the original and it does. I can live with the PCLs, at least for now.I've owned the 2500 LM PO LE (a beautiful watch without a doubt) and an 8500 PO that wore like a hockey puck on my wrist. In my current stable, I have my second modded 2254.50 but I suspect it will soon be findin

Considering a Planet Ocean..Need a little direction
Hello, to date I have been just a Rolex and old pocket watch kind of guy. But, the Orange Planet Ocean really has my attention. The problem is I cannot figure out what is what. It seems there are two sizes. 42mm and 45.5mm. Then it seems like there is a new in house 8500 movement as opposed to an older 2500 or 2900(?) movement that may be an ETA. When I look on eBay, some of them have many bids and some no bids. On this forum the Planet Oceans seem to sell right away. I called a dealer some 75 miles from where I live and he said he has a new 8500 42mm for $4500. I probably have no interest in a new one. Especially at that price. So I seem to have done as much research as I can but still really have no clear idea as to what is out there and what I would be buying. Any enlightenment that some of you could give me on what seems a myriad of choices would be welcome.
