Seiko SUT135 wrist watches news:
The HourTime Show is back with?a new episode,?where John and Ariel are delighted to discuss the Apple Watch...?and not just that, but the Apple Watch, in comparison to a vintage Patek Philippe. For some cool images of that comparison to go with this episode,?see the hands-on article here. With that done,?the two brainstorm over the?idea of a Baselworld 2016 Sherpa giveaway ¨C including all the difficulties and foibles such a venture might pose......Only to then converse about the pressing issue?of boring watches, as well as the latest trend of Kickstarting anything and everything and what that means for educated consumers buying watches today.Listen to the HourTime Show Watch podcast episode 177 here.Direct MP3 download here.
First off, let me explain that I'm not a current collector of pocketwatches, but I do like them nonetheless. I'm primarily a vintage Accutron collector, but have a soft spot for vintage Bulovas and a few others. I currently own two Railroad Approved Accutrons (both tuning fork models from the 60's) and love the dial style, and the fact that the Accutron was the first RR Approved wristwatch. I've read the book about Ball watches and the connection to RR approved, and am fascinated by it. My purpose here, is to learn a bit, and acquire a RR approved pocketwatch to go along with my Accutron models. I need to reread the Ball book and do some research for the basics, but I'm intending to try and source a model that has a nice, quality, RR working movement (serviced is good obviously) with a case that is typical of someone who used it, i.e., not a fancy gold model. I'd appreciate any assistance, and if anyone knows of a source that has anything like this in stock currently, please fee
I did a quick search of the site and found a couple of mentions of this movement and it's basically a ETA with some modifcations? It sound like quite a nice movement and a watch with one has just come on to [the very top end] my buying radar and I would be quite interested on any opinions and experiences from any owners of watches with this beast ticking away in it.It represents quite big step up for me so any advice you can offer would be gratefully accepted. ThanksSteve
Any suggestions on which I should get the FOIS or the Speedy (hesalite)? I know one is a 39.7 and the other is a 42, but I love both.
